According to Zero Hedge:

https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/ny-nets-ban-kyrie-irving-playing-until-he-gets-covid-19-vaccine

[EXCERPT]

Irving earns more than $400,000 per game - and forfeited some $817,000 in salary in January after missing two games to take part in a league-ordered quarantine after attending a birthday party in a club. He earned around $35 million last season, and was slated to earn $36.6 million this year - the last year of his contract.

It’s widely believed that Irving remains the only member of the Nets to not be vaccinated. It was noticed in the media early this week that he didn’t travel with the team for the missed pre-season game. According to ESPN, “The Nets are prevented by law from revealing whether Irving has been vaccinated, but the team’s statement is a strong indication he has not met New York’s vaccination requirement.”

“Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose .. . . "

We respect his right to choose so much that we are suspending him until he makes a different choice. Pure corporate-speak, pure Orwell.

Kyrie stands for the National Anthem too. Must put him in the wrong think box with white supremacist John Gruden.

I find it hard to believe that some of the most reasoned voices of the pandemic are coming from NBA players, but here we are.

This decision would have been made by the owner Joe Tsai.

Tsai was permitted to make billions by the CCP and he is an apologist for the regime.

It’s hard to imagine Tsai would not have consulted with his benefactors in Beijing on what stance to take to be in harmony with the CCP.

I would love to see Kyrie challenge the regulation.

The regulation is arbitrary and irrational.

The vaccines do not prevent transmission of the virus, which is the only legitimate interest government would have in imposing a mandate, that is, if the disease were a much greater danger justifying such a mandate.

But the media and the NBA are pretending it does prevent transmission.

The fallback justification for the mandate is that it is necessary to lessen the burden on hospital and medical resources.

But in Irving’s age and risk group, this is a de minimis risk.

And such a justification would permit the government to ban foods high in cholesterol or saturated fat, mandate the administration of statins, require everyone to eat ten servings a day of wheat, etc. in order to lessen the costs of heart disease on hospitals and the medical system. Or whatever other health nonsense government “experts” are pushing on a given day.

Well, what does it say in his contract? Is there any clause that permits this? If not, then they’ll have to keep paying him, or face a lawsuit.

Kyrie is about to find out just how little his players’ union has his back.

I know nothing about this guy but I have to applaud someone who is standing by his conviction. It is costing him $$$ and his career.

Not an easy choice.

Good luck to the young man.

Hope he finds a way to wiggle through the maze of forced vaccination.

Where are the exemptions?

Everyone supporting these mandatory vaccines and saying his choice not to get vaxxed and play is blindly signing up for a future where everyone will be required to get mandatory annual or more likely bi-annual injections of whatever substances the completely corrupt and unethical pharmaceutical industry decides are “necessary.” That is a scary proposition. Time for everyone to open their eyes. Do not accept this medical tyranny.

He makes $406,000 per game. That’s $8,458 per minute.

“Any player who elects not to comply with local vaccination mandates will not be paid for games that he misses,”

That sounds like breach of contract right there. Unless the contract he signs states that he must comply with all local mandates.

If he's willing to participate, but the league and his locality are refusing to let him, then that seems like it should be on them. The financial penalty should be on the leagues and/or localities if they're going to refuse to allow a person to fulfil his part of a contract.

This whole thing is flipped upside down.

Too bad Kyrie doesn't work for Southwest Airlines. He'd have co-workers with balls. https://t.co/Mjf2dI6Wbs— Jason Whitlock (@WhitlockJason) October 12, 2021
