The entire thread, that Rusty pinged me to, then I saw an interesting reply on, was pulled.

It was titled something like Wow, all flights in FL cancelled...

Which....it would seem to be YUUGE news, if ALL FL were, indeed, cancelled. And, multiple outlets would pick up.

🤷‍♀️

Agreed, Spunky. Anything anybody posts on the internet seems to be deemed creditable nowadays, even when the ‘source’ is just the usual blogs where they’re quoting each other with nothing substantial being offered.

I remember seeing several people post “Trump/Pompeo 2024” at various places on FR. Pretty sure I saw one or two posts about the possibility of Pompeo being part of the group that comprised Q, or at least of his being a ‘white hat’.

And remember how quick everyone was to take a ‘wait and see’ attitude about the rumored Noem/Lewandowski affair? Shouldn’t the Pompeo story receive the same treatment?

Well, that weren’t in the school or district that I worked for, thank goodness.

And they aren’t teaching craziness here now either.

I have too many friends that are teachers and administration that I can ask and they all say no way.

The military has suffered more deaths in 2021 than all of 2020, but none of the deaths were among those fully vaccinated, according to Pentagon spokesman Maj. Charlie Dietz.

We know we can't trust that because if a person gets vaxed and dies before 2 weeks is up they are considered unvaxed.

Yes I remember and yes you would think everyone should have the benefit of the doubt until it is actually a fact but unfortunately it is not that way.

One Month After Biden Announced Federal Vaccine Mandate, It Still Has Not Been Formally Issued

by Kyle Becker a day ago updated about 7 hours ago

FTA
One month after the Biden administration announced a draconian federal vaccine mandate that impacted an estimated 100 million Americans and led to mass firings of public servants, teachers, and medical workers, the federal regulation still has not been formally issued.

The Federalist reported on the ongoing fiasco in a post on Thursday that noted, “Joe Biden’s Vaccine Mandate Doesn’t Exist. It’s Just A Press Release”:

Biden’s so-called vaccine mandate doesn’t exist — at least, not yet. So far, all we have is his press conference and other such made-for-media huff-puffing. No such rule even claiming to be legally binding has been issued yet.

That’s why nearly two dozen Republican attorneys general who have publicly voiced their opposition to the clearly unconstitutional and illegal mandate haven’t yet filed suit against it, the Office of the Indiana Attorney General confirmed for me. There is no mandate to haul into court. And that may be part of the plan.

According to several sources, so far it appears no such mandate has been sent to the White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs yet for approval. The White House, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Department of Labor haven’t released any official guidance for the alleged mandate. There is no executive order. There’s nothing but press statements.

Despite what you may have been falsely led to believe by the media fantasy projection machine, press statements have exactly zero legal authority.

“There is nothing there yet that gives employers any mandate,” Stephanie McFarland, spokeswoman for the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration, told The Federalist’s Joy Pullman on Oct. 6. “The president made an announcement on this asking OSHA to do it, but we’ve not yet seen anything come from it yet,” she also said. When the state agency gets any further information, she said, they’ll review it.”

In September, twenty-four state attorney generals threatened to sue the Biden administration over the announced federal vaccine mandate. The state AGs issued a joint letter to the Biden administration on the lawsuit they intend to bring if it attempts to implement the federal mandate.

“We, the Attorneys General of 24 states, write in opposition to your attempt to mandate the vaccination of private citizens,” the AGs’ letter reads. “On September 9, you announced that you would be ordering the Department of Labor to issue an emergency temporary standard, under the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act , which would mandate that private sector employers require most of their employees to either get a COVID-19 shot, submit to weekly testing, or be fired. Your plan is disastrous and counterproductive. From a policy perspective, this edict is unlikely to win hearts and minds-it will simply drive further skepticism. And at least some Americans will simply leave the job market instead of complying.”

“Your edict is also illegal,” the letter adds. “You propose to enforce your mandate through the rarely used emergency temporary standard provision in the OSH Act. According to the Congressional Research Service, the Department has attempted to adopt an emergency temporary standard only one other time since 1983 (and that one exception came in June of this year and is being challenged). An emergency temporary standard does not have to go through notice and comment and can be made effective immediately upon publication. Because of this lack of process and oversight, courts have viewed these standards with suspicion. Between 1971 and 1983, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued nine emergency temporary standards. Of those, six were challenged. The courts fully vacated or stayed the standards in four cases, partially stayed the standards in another, and upheld only one of the six.”

“Courts are skeptical because the law demands it,” the letter continues. “To justify an emergency temporary standard, OSHA must determine that ’employees are exposed to grave danger from exposure to substances or agents determined to be toxic or physically harmful or from new hazards …. ‘ and it must conclude that ‘such emergency standard is necessary to protect employees from such danger.’ Each of the italicized phrases defeats your attempt to rely on this statute. First, while ‘grave danger’ is left undefined, your own statements during the announcement that those who are vaccinated have little chance of hospitalization or death undercut any assertion that there is ‘grave danger.’ Moreover, many Americans who have recovered from COVID-19 have obtained a level of natural immunity, and the statistics are clear that young people without co-morbidities have a low risk of hospitalization from COVID-19. You thus cannot plausibly meet the high burden of showing that employees in general are in grave danger.”

Staff shortages lead to ‘unprecedented’ disruptions for Washington State Ferries

By JACQUELINE ALLISON @Jacqueline_SVH 10 hrs ago

FTA
ANACORTES — At the Anacortes Ferry Terminal on Saturday, the ferry M/V Samish sat at the dock. Though cars were lined up waiting to go to the San Juan Islands, the ferry did not sail.

The Samish, one of three vessels serving the Anacortes-San Juan Islands route, was taken out of service Saturday and Sunday due to the lack of a crew, leaving the route with just two boats.

Other ferry routes in the region were also operating with fewer vessels due to crew shortages, resulting in dozens of canceled sailings. On Friday, Washington State Ferries canceled 150 sailings.

“That is pretty unprecedented,” State Ferries spokesperson Ian Sterling said Friday evening.

A total of 28 workers called in sick Friday, which Sterling said is not unusual. He said the challenge is that the system has no “bench” of subs.

“There is no one to fill in,” he said.

In the ferry line Saturday, Spokane residents Jacob Gray and Lizzie Velonza had to wait an extra two hours to sail to Friday Harbor after the 2:40 p.m. sailing was canceled. The next was not until 4:30 p.m.

They learned of the cancellation just 15 minutes before they arrived.

“I had a lot of faith in the ferry system as someone who hasn’t been in the area,” Gray said.

Meanwhile, state legislators are sounding the alarm on the ferry service disruptions.

“Washington State Ferries... is in dire straits,” wrote 40th District Democratic legislators Sen. Liz Lovelett and Reps. Debra Lekanoff and Alex Ramel in a joint statement Tuesday.

For San Juan Islands residents, who rely on ferries to get on and off the islands, disruptions are more than just an inconvenience, the legislators argued.

“This is a matter of livelihoods and whether or not people can get to doctor’s appointments, commute to work, get food for their families, and access other essential travel,” the legislators said.

There are also impacts for mainlanders, such as Skagit County businesses that rely on ferries when they need to make deliveries to the islands.

Crew shortages

A combination of factors is driving the crew shortages, say officials and ferry employees.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it challenging for State Ferries to train new employees as it confronts an aging workforce. COVID-19 cases and quarantining requirements have also led to staffing shortages.

Now, the ferry system is faced with Gov. Jay Inslee’s Oct. 18 deadline for all workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Sterling said 87% of roughly 1,800 employees will be eligible to work come Oct. 18. He said the group includes those who have submitted their vaccination cards or have obtained exemptions. That leaves 13% of the workforce — about 230 employees — yet to be cleared to work.

Sterling said the state has started “the separation process” for those employees who have not yet submitted verification of vaccination. The hope is that more will continue to verify their vaccinations.

“We still have time before the 18th. We don’t know what the full impact will be and how many people will choose to leave state employment,” Sterling said.

To bring more employees on board, Sterling said State Ferries has switched from seasonal hiring to continuous hiring. It has hired more than 100 new crew members this year, the agency said in a Tweet on Friday.

Sterling said a “global shortage of mariners” is affecting other maritime operators, not just State Ferries.
