Romans 10:17: 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
St. John 1:1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
These also have been “doctrinized” by both Augustine and Chrysostom who expounded often on the efficacy, inerrancy and inspiration of Scripture.
The Reformers simply recognized the Golden Ring found in
“Faith by Grace through Scripture”.
Sola Scriptura, cherry picked on its own by skeptics, is a non-starter.
This last bit can be characterized as late-arriving but is fully defensible by Scripture and The Church Fathers.
