A Nashville nurse wrote an op-ed in the Scientific American detailing her experience as a nurse during the pandemic, saying the current wave of delta cases is much worse than what she experienced last year.
“It is so much worse this time. We all have so much less to give. We are still bearing the fresh and heavy grief of the past year and trying to find somewhere to put all this anger. But the patients don’t stop coming,” Kathryn Ivey, a critical care nurse at a medical center in Nashville, said.

Nurse, it’s going to get worse, a lot worse but not because there are more cases, but because Biden is requiring all doctors, nurses and staff at hospitals, clinics, rehab centers, hospice and nursing homes that are reimbursed by medicare or medicaid be vaccinated. There are employees who refuse and quit. So the same workload will be staffed by fewer professionals.
Already this is rule in New Mexico for all of the above medical facilities whether or not they accept government payments. Although vaccination is not required in Texas, some small town clinics supported by medicare or medicaid will be forced to close for lack of staff.
