Hits close to home for me. Once I had to walk 5 blocks home, on ice skates, with a fractured skull. Happened in an era long before the litigious society had taken hold, so my dad could only petition City Hall (successfully, I’ll say) to get a pay phone installed at the venue in question.
I distinctly remember monkey bars on concrete. Those were the good old days, before foam-rubber playgrounds.
