7.11.1 Conductive Plastics Consumption and Applications
Conductive plastics consumption in value (see Table 7.40, according to BBC Research, and Figure 7.31 “Conductive Polymers and ICP Consumption”) grows slightly faster than total plastics when ICPs grow three times faster. Really, conductive plastics are a little market and ICP an emerging but very promising one.

Conductive plastic potentiometers
A more modern development in potentiometers makes use of conductive plastics materials. Early attempts at making conductive plastics used mixtures that were modelled on the carbon composition type with the plastic heavily impregnated with carbon. It is now possible to obtain plastics materials that are not mixtures, but genuine conductors in their own right.
