The test swab length used for the covid tests done now are the same short length they used for flu a/b, strep, back before the covid tests were available.
A couple weeks ago I had occasion to get a covid test at my regular doctors, and the swabs were the short ones, and the test checked for flu a/b, strep, and covid (fortunately, all negative, and am OK so far).
And my questions:
1) When people are getting positive covid test results, what exactly is being sent back for analysis to figure what strain is going around at the time?
2) If there’s no covid virus, with what virus are people getting sick?
A neighbor of mine has her daughter and daughter’s son living with her; daughter and son went on a short vacation and came back, they became sick and passed the bug on to her.
They all tested positive for covid, and all recovered.
3) If the covid was the flu, the swab tests would have shown positive for flu as well as for covid.
May the good Lord grant her eternal rest and peace in heaven!

What if a medic wanted to troll people and took a couple blood bags and put used transmission fluid in one, and used motor oil in another, and took a picture...
And claimed that the transmission fluid filled one was from an unvaxed person, and the motor oil filled one was from a vaxed person?
Note that the name of the poster was redacted; at some point it —wasn’t— redacted, so.... there might be something going on.

My comments after a selection of points in the minutes:
▪ EO 14042, Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, directs federal agencies to incorporate vaccination requirements into their contracts.
How long will it take to get the changes into —all— the contracts?
• __A target date of 22-NOV-21 for all federal workers to obtain vaccine.__
This is for federal workers, not federal contractors.
• Agencies are still directed to solicit vaccine status from contractors, or
to ask them to show documentation of a negative test. *** has not yet
implemented such a requirement and is evaluating how to proceed.
There —is— a choice for contractors, get the shots or show proof of negative test.
▪ Neither the two new EOs nor the new Model Safety Principles update address what to do if federal employees are not vaccinated by the deadline.
This says federal employess, not federal contractors.
Maybe test out, and in the meantime get everything together so you can retire.

At the beginning of this epidemic epidemiologists said that everyone would be exposed to the virus. Given that, some will seek their own remedies, some will seek medical remedies such as vaccines, some will acquire natural immunity - by means that are not always understood, and some will succumb to the infection.
Originally Sweden did not resort to lock downs and there was no vaccine available. The graph of infections formed a natural bell curve, peaking in about 2 months and diminishing to inconsequential in less than four months. Subsequently the disease held little interest to that population.
In my simplistic view that is classical herd immunity. Certainly medical intervention through drugs and vaccines and whatever else can also play a role.

Yes. I think that whole Natural Born Citizen thing is pretty much over. Harris definitely doe not qualify under that standard and no one on either side of the aisle seems to care.
If we keep going down this road, eventually, citizenship itself will not be required.
