In the grand scheme of things Newton was never a top tier QB. He was decent, but just another face among a long line of average QB’s for the NFL.

He can't throw with anticipation. He's just another "running back who wants to be a QB".

FANTASTIC in college, where his size and speed overwhelmed. But, NOT in the NFL.

I expect Baltimore to hire him as a backup to Lamar. Same skill set.

Maybe he can just retire and become a high school coach.

Cam did stay away from the fumble. The Denver defense destroyed Cam. The Denver defense broke Cam. The other teams in the NFL saw that they could brutalize Cam and get away with it. Com 6’6” tall and 260 lbs. bigger than a defensive end. The League allowed Cam to be destroyed. Now, Cam is broken. His body is destroyed. He can not play at a high level anymore. And he did not get the jab. His hope for the future is to try to keep his money and try to have fun playing volleyball with the young adults in the park.

Even at his best, he was always just a 1st half quarterback and phoning it in after halftime.

Newton is a talented athlete. His problem is that he has no heart. Just think about the Super Bowl against Atlanta. Patriots are down 28-3! In the 2nd half! Brady was on the sidelines pumping up his teammates and carrying them when they were on the field. But when Newton played in the Super Bowl, down by 6 at halftime, he was sulking on the sidelines. What NFL team needs a QB who isn’t driven to win? Backups have more heart.

He was a big, slightly above average QB. Over the years, the Panthers organization took away his help and relied more and more on his size and had him run the ball. He started getting hurt. He is now damaged goods. I don’t think he is Kapernick material and would probably be a good back-up for some team.

He was a huge quarterback, and talented at running, but I could never figure out how he made it in the NFL throwing.

Every time I saw him throw, he never looked like he could read a defense, he seemed inaccurate, and had what I saw as a huge windup.

Reminded me of Tim Tebow. But...dang, he made passes. It always puzzled me.

I despised his showboating and taunting, though. Never liked it.
