ALLOWING business to put her constituents in danger from the shot.

Take personal responsibility. The business isn't going to jab you, you have to jab yourself after weighing the importance of your life vs a job that is replaceable.

What part of the employer putting the employee in harms way are you not getting? Most folks never thought an employer would put them in harms way. Would it be ok for an employer to fire someone for not drinking bleach if said employer required it, or do you think they should be locked up?

My former employer is encouraging employees to get the shot but said they will NEVER force people. That was their stand when I was there. Daughter is there now.

I fully believe in a business being allowed to run the business the way they see fit. The issue for me is that you have people in their 60’s that are close to retirement but not quite close enough. I stayed with the same company for almost 40 years. There were times I would have loved to go find another job but, when you have invested so many years of your life in the same company because they have good benefits, you don’t feel like you should have to walk away from that and start over. After that many years I was vested in my retiree insurance that would also cover my husband and small pensions from Kraft Food and Gillette. I was making tons of money with P&G’s profit sharing.

Still, I stayed until I had enough saved to retire at 58. P&G is hard to work for. They don’t care about their people. They work you 10-12 hours a day 6-7 days a week but they compensate very well. They compensate too good to quit.

If you leave a job like that and try to find another job, HR at the place you are applying to wonder what is wrong with YOU, not the company you are leaving. It is NOT easy for a person over 60 to find another job.

I retired early because the long hours and rotating shifts were ruining my health. I would have done the same thing over the shot. I planned ahead and was ready but nobody ever thought something like this would happen.

A young person sometimes can quit on principles and possibly find another job but could they find one that isn’t also requiring the shot? An older person can’t always do that.

I really really hope companies that are stabbing faithful employees in the back like this suffer.
