lol! That’s the moment when you STOP “straightening up”!
Just drop the Kleenex and calmly walk away looking intently into the next gallery. The Security Guard is gabbing on his Bluetooth. He ‘didn’t see nothin’”

Rick would have gave her $50 for it.
Bigger paintings bring more? So that’s why my original DaVinci wallet sized Mona Lisa isn’t worth anything.
Some art. Where’s the original Dale Earnhardt Sr. on black velvet?

It’s gorgeous and incredibly detailed. I agree with you, it’s worth a lot more than $200K.

“Giovanni Antonio Canal (18 October 1697 – 19 April 1768),[1] commonly known as Canaletto (Italian: [kanaˈletto][2]), was an Italian painter from the Republic of Venice, considered important member of the 18th-century Venetian school. “
Good golly...the guy was a prolific painter! Of course, you couldn’t find a more beautiful place than Venice to ply your trade.

True.
But sometimes auction houses deliberately keep estimates low. I hope the consignor received a fair commission rate.

Great eye. I think your point is correct, but I think he captured the scene accurately nonetheless. If you look closely at this similarly positioned modern photo, the porticos of the building are not level with each other today.

Thanks, LTOS! It must be a late work of Canaletto as it lacks the imagination, the freshness and vitality of his earlier work.
