The number of children hospitalized with COVID-19 in the U.S. hit a record high on Saturday, with more than 1,900 kids in hospitals.
Hospitals across the South are running out of beds as the contagious Delta variant spreads, mostly among unvaccinated people. Children make up about 2.4% of the country’s COVID-19 hospitalizations, and those under 12 are particularly vulnerable since they’re not eligible to receive a vaccine.
“This is not last year’s COVID,” Sally Goza, former president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, told CNN on Saturday.
“This one is worse, and our children are the ones that are going to be affected by it the most,” she said.
The number of newly hospitalized COVID-19 patients for ages 18-49 also hit record highs this week. A fifth of the nation’s hospitalizations are in Florida, where the number of COVID-19 patients hit a record high of 16,100 on Saturday. More than 90% of the state’s intensive care unit beds are filled.
More than 90% of the ICU beds in Texas are full as well. On Friday, there were no pediatric ICU beds available in Dallas or the 19 surrounding counties, which means that young patients would be transported father away for care — even Oklahoma City.
“That means if your child’s in a car wreck, if your child has a congenital heart defect or something and needs an ICU bed, or more likely, if they have COVID and need an ICU bed, we don’t have one,” Clay Jenkins, a Dallas County judge, said on Friday.
“Your child will wait for another child to die,” he said.
As children return to classes this week, educators are talking about the possibility of vaccine mandates. The National Education Association announced its support of mandatory vaccination for its members.
“Our students under 12 can’t get vaccinated,” Becky Pringle, president of the association, told CNN.
“It’s our responsibility to keep them safe,” she said. “Keeping them safe means that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.”
The U.S. now has an average of about 129,000 new COVID-19 cases per day, Reuters reported, which has doubled in about two weeks. The number of hospitalized patients is at a six-month high, and about 600 people are dying each day.
Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oregon have reported record numbers of COVID-19 hospitalizations this month.
In addition, eight states make up half of all the COVID-19 hospitalizations in the U.S. but only 24% of the nation’s population — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, and Texas. These states have vaccination rates lower than the national average, and their COVID-19 patients account for at least 15% of their overall hospitalizations.
To address the surge in hospitalizations, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has ordered the deployment of up to 1,500 Oregon National Guard members to help health care workers.
“I know this is not the summer many of us envisioned,” Brown said Friday. “The harsh and frustrating reality is that the Delta variant has changed everything. Delta is highly contagious, and we must take action now.”

And 1,800 of the 1,900 most likely are in the hospital with some other issue but were given a PCR test with around 40 oversampling cycles and a 90% false positive rate when they were admitted. The bullsh@t keeps getting thicker and thicker. Most of the “vaccines” are now horribly horribly ineffective against the “delta variant” which is much less deadly than the original Fauci Flu. Most kids don't even realize that they have it.

medical professionals in a NC group I’m in were chatting and they have been noting that in the pediatric RSV cases they have been seeing, parents or caregivers of the child had all received the Covid vacc. Coincidence or not, it bears looking into.

Trump had temporary hospitals across the nation with inhalators (h.t. Obama) ICU beds, and massive inventories of medical supplies. Two hospital ships were sent. None of them were used. Where is all this material now? Why isn’t Biden ordering fema to distribute all that medical equipment?

Maximum propaganda effort here. Timing is everything, isn’t it. Major effort as new school year for children begins, especially articles about these child hospitalizations happening in the southern states, many of which are more conservative and vote Republican. They are especially going after Texas and Florida as Gov DeSantis is considered a major threat to the Dem regime. Expect more and more propaganda here.
The “children” equation did not factor in until the beginning of the school year, and the Teachers Union is behind a lot of this as their leadership is totally radicalized, they don’t want to work in classrooms for their own lazy and political purposes, and the medical community contains many who were graduates and taught by these radicalized socialists that have polluted our institutions of higher learning for years now.
It has culminated in a horrifying preponderance of propagandizing by the educational elites that now overwhelmingly populate our higher learning institutions throughout our country. It has trickled down into our K-12 schools also; brainwashing starts young these days. I hope not, but it may be too late to reverse gears; the layers of intellectual pollution go down very deep.
