“But our military is not meant for nation building. Not for policing the world. Not for imposing democracy in places that have never known it.

Not only are these bad ideas, but they aren’t the point of our military and they do nothing for our national defense.”

Hardly brilliant.

His utopian vision is little different than Bush and Obama’s failed utopian vision.

He is right Liz Ceney is reprehensible and despicable.

One disagreement: The was was not really against Afghanistan, but Pakistan, that provided bottomless equipment and replacement fighters.

All would be for nought unless the dozen or so mountain passes between the countries were sealed. We, and even Pakistan, offered to do that and the Afghan government was adamant that we could not.

This alone guaranteed 20 years of unsuccessful war, no matter how many hundreds of thousands of fighters we killed.

Specifically, what impact did GWB wars have on Christians in both countries?

Too late. And stop with the “It’s Bush’s fault” etc. Spend energy putting this ALL on Biden and the democrats. Biden deserves this. This is politics and everything needs to be done to expose what a disaster that political party has brought to the world. Every hanging, every beheading, every atrocity is BIDEN’S doing. The blood is on his hands directly and the democrats own Biden. Remind EVERYONE that fact. Every girl that is raped and every woman who is stoned is BECAUSE OF BIDEN.

He’s right. We should have went over, kicked a** and come home.

Now the enemy has our equipment and money.

What did we gain from nation building? Security? No.

How much more secure if we had bombed them and left them to still be building back.

I’m not compassionate, I don’t care how they lived after 9/11.

Blow them away and come home, we made them stronger with all this other bull crud.

Rand Paul is carrying the legacy of his father, Ron Paul, forward with honor.

Unfortunately, Loathsome Liz Cheney, daughter of Dirty Dick Cheney, is carrying her father’s warmongering legacy forward, insisting that American Christians be sacrificed on the altar of the Islamic Middle East.

Reminiscing.....

“All Your Base Belong To Us!”

Who knew then the terrorist boast was directed to the Democratic Party?

I remember agreeing with Ron Paul, but I continued supporting W after the nation building was announced. I voiced my dismay to very few people, primarily because I felt grateful that we had Bush and not Algore as President. Turns out Algore probably would have gone along with the military-industrial establishment just like W.

Never again will I make rationalizations and hold my tongue for a Republican. I am ashamed.

LOL...I knew my post mistaking Ron for Rand in your earlier post on this subject would probably come in handy. I think they both have some very good points; and, I admit to being touchy about anything that takes the hot spotlight off Biden for his failures. So, I'm reposting my original comment, minus the snarky comment on Rand:

Somebody had to get us out of this mess, sounds familiar; but Joe, of course, was the wrong guy to run the operation. I get it, Rand, we had no business being there etc., etc. and so on...But, unfortunately Joe was the guy who was tasked with draining the Afghan swamp; and he blew it. No use, while we are up to our ears in crocs, in pontificating .

I do respect Rand, while not always in agreement with him.

I have always liked Rand and this year he has definitely set him apart with courage and honest questions about big issues. Hope he considers running in 2024.

Terrorism would have been on a continued ascendancy the entire time if we had listened to Ron Paul. We were attacking terrorist states because “they were different from us” - parroting the far left and the terrorist’s propaganda that it was a “war against Islam.” America was to blame for 9/11 attacks and they didn’t hate us for our values, etc.

Clueless then. Clueless now.

But our military is not meant for nation building.

Not that I agree with being in Afghanastan for 20 years but the military did exactly that "nation building" in Japan and West Germany after WWII.
