My family says that I am “Selfish” for not getting the vaccine.
The want us to wear masks, stay indoors and isolated, distance ourselves from other people and get the seemingly-questionable mRNA injection*, and WE’RE SELFISH???
*FD: I got the shot, but I don’t want to force other people to do it.
Why would you care?
I got the jab and now I have Covid. Recovering as we speak. People are simply nuts for believing anything is gonna stop the progression of this virus.
Duly noted, thank you. In this case, I am choosing, for the moment, to stay close enough to them to be confidantes while disclosing little on my side of things. I am VERY aware of what I do or say around them.
These are longtime friends, who, if we were in Nazi Germany, would surely be the ones who turned me in to the Gestapo. So I completely understand what you are saying.
It may well be that I break this friendship off with the others. For now, I’m choosing to watch and listen. If I have to make a move in the future, it will be abrupt, and hopefully under their radar.

Just like people are selfish for not wanting a 100% tax rate. My mother is like this. I avoid contact with her because it is exhausting amd imfuriating listening to her recite crap she heard on “The View” or NPR.

Palestine has been reporting 4-500 cases a day average for the last two weeks, up from 150 or so; they might be entering their fourth wave. I’d like to see the chart at the end of August.
Also to be considered, the median age of Palestinians is 20; the median age of Israelis is almost twice that, at 35. To give an example, Calif 18-34 years old, a million and a quarter cases but only 938 deaths while 35-49 are just under a million cases and just over 3500 deaths. Broken out by age would be a big help in comparing the two. I’d also like to know how many Palis are counted in Israels’ numbers since a lot of them are treated in Israeli hospitals.

Your post was one of the best in this thread. It really is about control freaks demanding to have control over everyone else and if they can not control you by belittling and coersion, they demand government does it to you by force and violence.
Can you provide some more information:
Is this spouse? Children? Parents? Siblings? Extended family?
That will make a difference both long and short term on how you approach telling them and interactions going forward.
There’s lots of knee jerk reactions from FReepers on this tread advising you what to do. A couple in the past have mocked people that have been vaccinated and also that have later gotten sick. Consider if you want to accept advice from people you do not know and which are so willing to give you advice without knowing your specific situation.

First, please consider disregarding many of the knee jerk, ignorant comments from FReepers about ceasing contact with your family. People that make those comments don’t care about you or your family. They’re just talking tough from behind a keyboard.
You have to live with these people (well, if you daughter lives with you). Communication is critical to them understand ping why you believe it is not advisable to get the vaccination.
Do you have clergy that you could talk with to discuss the matter with your family? That can be a real help and can serve as a neutral mediator.
Also, get medical information from more than FR. There is some crazy stuff being spouted on FR both for snd against vaccination. An example is peoples arms being magnetized at the point of injection of a COVID-19 vaccination.
