Nobody can tell you how to live your life, or what decisions you should make...not even your family. Don’t ever allow anyone to goad you into compromising your beliefs, and values. You’ll never forgive yourself if you do. Tell your family, to go run their manipulation bullshit on somebody else.

Cut them out of your life. I did it with most of mine and years later, I wish I would have done it decades ago.

Yup. The OP has been blessed--now they know where they stand with their relatives.

The key is to _act_ and then life will get great once the chains of the masters are torn off your back.

What happened to logic, education, and common sense. Until COVID-19 it was generally believed that the people who were vaccinated were protected from illness and therefore did not have to worry about exposure to the pathogen.

And that is generally true for vaccines that actually work. It may be that some of the COVID-19 vaccines really don't work very well, so people are still clinging to theories about public health measures making a difference. That's why we still hear about masks, etc.

But if the Delta variant is really as contagious as the CDC would like us to believe, and the vaccines aren't as effective as everyone hoped, then you are more at risk from a vaccinated but infected person than you are a risk for them.

So no, you aren't being selfish. But they are endangering you to some extent.

Personally, if you are in a high risk group I would encourage you to study the vaccines, talk to a trusted medical advisor, and consider them based on your own individual circumstances - not what somebody else feels or says.

*** What exactly is their problem? They are vaccinated so they must believe they are protected. How could you possibly be a threat to them in that scenario? If they are vaccinated and they do not believe they are protected, how would you joining them make any difference whatsoever?***

^^^This^^^ is what I don’t understand.

What is their problem?

I am vaxxed as are my husband and adult children, but I do not harbor any ill feelings towards those who choose not to get them. I also have two brothers who I recently discovered are not vaxxed.

I do not think either of them are selfish, nor anyone who chooses not to go this route. On the contrary, I understand that they feel deceived by the CDC and the government at large. They don’t feel that they can trust these vaccines, and I understand that skepticism.

But selfish? I have good friends who say this on a regular basis, to even their family and friends. It makes me ill.

I do PRAY that whatever is the truth will be made known. I am concerned that my two brothers may contract this virus and have a bad time of it. We have a friend who is in ICU as I type, and we discovered he isn’t vaccinated. Praying for a miracle for him and his family.

My only suggestion to all of us is that we get right with the Lord. Any of us could go at any time, for a myriad of reasons.

Godspeed, my FReeper FRiends.

When they see something like this do they say. That is right wing BS?
If so. I feel bad for you.

"Mom got the jab but she’s nuts anyway. We don’t discuss it in front of her."

I guess I lucked out that the last of my family died back in 2014. My two sons in their 50's, both got it. I never told them not to, because it's their life, and their decision, but I'm a mother, so of course I worry about possible side-effects. As far as me getting the jab, they know enough not to try to talk me into anything. And thankfully, neither of them lives near me.

You need to disown those "good friends"

Now.

They are toxic.

You cannot trust them--ever.

They will burn you.

They will stab you in the back.

This is not about the virus or the vaccines.

This is about basic human values.

They believe they own other humans like cattle.

You have been warned.

Tell them because of the leaky vaccines they are walking Petri dishes for creating mutant variants of the virus and they are selfish for not self-quarantining in their basements for the rest of their lives.

I know a guy who got the first vax shot and lost hearing (and balance) in one ear from a blood clot a few days after the shot. It’s permanent. That’s really bad luck. I got the shots without any side effects (that I know of). Do not take the vax if you have any doubts. Like someone stated, it’s your body and your choice.

They arent worried about his health at all.

If they were selfish wouldnt even be mentioned.

They are only concerned about their health. They think he will be a problem for them, even when they are the vaccinated ones.

Now THAT is the definition of selfish.

Your family members are each responsible for their own words and actions ...

... but never forget that politicians and the MSM are the ones who set the people of this country against one another.

Stand your ground

Someone will need to stay alive to continue the family bloodline

You’re right - I had to ditch a friend of 45 years. Since then we’ve made over a dozen new friends to replace him. No regrets.

I have some nagging congenital problems that made my life miserable at times that the quacks never could or would do much about so I am used to suffering.

No way will I play Russian Roulette here.

It’s unfortunate that your family feels that way. In truth, it is they who are selfish for demanding that you violate your person with an experimental cocktail, which has unknown long term side-effects which may include cancer, blood clots (and resulting stroke or pulmonary embolism), neurodegenerative and auto-immune disorders and potentially death. Let’s not get into reproductive issues overall, and menstrual issues for women in particular.

I’m sorry to hear this; it must be difficult to have such vast political differences within the family. Although, this is a health care issue, and it should NEVER become political. I’m annoyed that it has.

Stick to your guns. I wish I had. I very much regret being vaccinated.

I should also mention that these vaccines are what’s called, “leaky”, in that vaccinated people can still contract and spread the virus. This results in the virus becoming more resistant to the vaccines, and then they help no one. Natural immunity is ideal, not vaccination.
