I would say within the last 10-15 yrs. It’s called Little Baghdad for a reason. Definitely the last 5 have gotten really bad.
I’m so glad I’m not there. Everyone I know has some horror story about either getting hit by these people on the road or blocking you, or I don’t even know if I can explain this. .. I was sitting at a light, going to go straight. Next to me was the left hand turn lane. Some guy came roaring up behind me, the light was red, he swerved over to the left hand turn lane, then skidded into the middle of the intersection and turned right in front of everyone. And it was a block away from an elementary school.
The DMV in El Cajon was caught in a huge sting. Thousands of immigrants had paid to the DMV workers, $3000-5000 for driver’s licenses.. and the DMV had no idea who the “new drivers” were!!
I don’t know if I can call them refugees or not. Immigrants according to Wiki. Wiki is wrong on the demographics, they are using 2010 information.
I had several customers who worked in LEO or with LEO as dispatchers. As did hubby.

Well, call me Pollyanna, but I think we do. We are not finished, by a long shot. There are so many of us that are silent. We don’t answer polls, we don’t tell how much bang bang boom boom stuff we have. I am vocal here about my politics, of course, but not publicly.

We do not need to be the “Tiger” of the world, Eisenhower warned us about being as you say the Tiger of the world:

Afghanistan and much of Africa will never see peace because they are a collection of tribes. Much like the American Indians, these kind of inter-tribal issues prevents them from uniting as a country and advancing in the known ways.
If the American Indians united against the colonists and not fought amongst themselves the Massachusetts colony would have ended in the late 1600s during King Philips War.

And furthermore! These comparisons between Vietnam and Afghanistan really bother me. Vietnam was a country ruled by others since BC times. The French experience there after the Japanese were defeated was singular. But nobody learned he lesson. There was no way to enforce a North and South Vietnam. When we went in, there was no decisive win. The country was not united with a new non-communist government.
Afghanistan is totally different. It’s a tribal country which has fought off every world power from taking control of the country. When we went in we won. We kicked their ass in a completely unique manner in less than a month.
The mess that happened after, a retarded version of the Marshall plan, was a disaster that never should have happened. You cannot foist republican capitalism on those who have no idea what that even means.
