Where I live in central western NJ, Wawa is the schnizzle. Great convenience store, clean, and the made to order items are solid as hell every time.

"Wawa" is the word in the Algonquian Indian language for "Canada goose", presumably the sound they make flying over. There was an ancient Indian settlement west of Philadelphia named Wawa, and it eventually became an English settler township.
About 200 years ago, a family founded the Wawa Dairy farm in Wawa, PA. It has since grown from a chain of food markets to a chain of highly successful convenience stores with a flying goose in their logo. Many of the city locations have only parking, but their last decade or two has seen Wawa expand to highway locations offering gas stations.
Still a privately-held corporation (34th largest in the U.S.), Wawa used to be in the Philly-Wilmington metro regions only, but now is scattered all along the main north-south east coast I-95 superhighway. Now you can drive from New Jersey southbound and follow the Wawa road signs to find good gas prices, a clean store, and the same great coffee and Philadelphia specialties like hoagies, cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, Tastycakes and Goldenberg's Peanut Chews along with the usual sodas and other convenience fare, most of the way down to Florida.
