How do we know what Jenouvrier really did to the colony? None of us were there.

And 2100? Thought we had less than nine years left, not 79 years?

Maybe AOC has given us an extension now that Dems are back in power.

What if a major sea ice/climate change is not attributable to mankind but is a natural phenomenon of nature? That would leave these climate change scientists with Penguin crap on their faces, wouldn’t it?

And who says that carbon emissions is the cause of any or all climate change/sea-ice changes, or anything else, esp. if reforestation efforts around the world provide a major carbon-absorbing/retaining partial solution to the problem.

As long as Red China and some other underdeveloped countries continue to use coal, coal oil, etc. as their major source of fuel, carbon emissions will remain high. The US has done a good job of reducing these emissions downward, thus providing us with cleaner/healthier air, while still giving plants the CO2 they need to grow.

It is the Red Chinese who now are the major polluters of the atmosphere, but who is going to make them do anything about it? The UN? Biden and the EPA? Tree-huggers? Scientists who hide inside universities?

The Red Chinese would have them all for a snack.

Disasters happen. Rome burned. Earthquakes everywhere. Forest Fires. The Johnstown Flood. The Great Fire of London. Tsunamis. Hurricanes. Tornadoes. You name it.

Some penguins living on some God forsaken iceberg don't get a special pass or reprieve. They take their chances like every living thing. They aren't "special".

The Emperor penguin demise began when Ernest Shackleton’s men ate them to survive their Antarctic ordeal.

“… Research published Tuesday in the journal Global Change Biology found that by 2100, 98% of Emperor penguin colonies may be pushed to the brink of extinction, if no changes are made to current rates of carbon emissions and climate change.…”

Oh dear, the Emperor penguin is soon going to join the Polar Bear in extinction. The horror…

So what? No particular species is essential for Earth’s continued operation. That includes homo sapiens too.

Horse manure.

What is all this crap about sea ice. Aren’t these little guys living in Antarctica? That is LAND covered by ice.

So what pray tell does stable sea ice really have to do with it? Even it did, the Emperor’s would adjust as needed to their conditions. Unlike the author and her wild ideas.

This is the major fault of this lie called climate charge. They always extrapolate the issues to decades from now when we can barely predict the weather a week from now.

The polar bear scare failed so now its on to Penguins. The horror! We must save the Penguins by banning fossil fuels.

“The colony never recovered”

I call bullspit on this claim, doesn’t pass the smell test

Emperor penguins live 15-20 years in the wild and reach sexual maturity in 3-8 years. Meaning they reproduce for 7-17 years.

A years loss of chicks certainly would hurt, but it would not destroy a colony.

And given 2016 was 5 years ago, you haven’t even hit the peak time when those chick would have been part of the breeding population yet.. the colony certainly will recover in time. However that time will likely be after the lost generation has worked its way through the system

It is possible that year after year of such occurrences would eventually make the colony unviable, but a one time event like that will not. Given it’s been 5 years now since that event and it hasn’t happened again, claiming it’s likelihood will be routine going forward is conjecture not science

Homosexuality may result in another sodom and Gomorrah event by 2100 too. If you guys stop sodomy then I will pay heed to your concerns about global warming.

Apparently the “polar bears are going extinct!” lie has lost it’s luster.

Now it’s penguins in the spotlight of victimhood.

This is a species that has been around for 40 million years. Undoubtedly, in that time they’ve seen all sorts of “climate change” and obviously survived.

I don’t hunt penguin. I don’t eat penguin. I don’t have/want penguins for pets.

Won’t there be more fish?
