No need to go to your clickbait blog. You just cut and pasted this from elsewhere anyway.

*********

A woman has brutally killed her husband after learning that he had allegedly been sexually abusing their son and daughter for years, according to reports.

59-year-old Corinna Smith from Neston, near Liverpool, UK, filled a garden bucket with water from the kettle and three bags of sugar.

She then poured the boiling liquid over her husband Michael Baines as he slept in their bed.

Baines later died from his injuries in hospital after fighting for his life in excruciating pain for several weeks.

The mother-of-two reportedly flew into a homicidal rage after her daughter claimed the 80-year-old father had preyed on her and her brother Craig - who took his own life in 2007 - “for many years when they were children,” accoridng to the Liverpool Echo.

Smith, previously known as Baines, was sentenced to life imprisonment, and ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years behind bars before parole can be considered.

Chester Crown Court found Corinna Smith guilty of murder

Prosecutors told Chester Crown Court yesterday the sugar “made the liquid more viscous, thicker and stickier so that it stays on the skin and causes greater damage”.

Mr. Baines suffered significant burns to 36 percent of his body and underwent surgery and skin grafts but died weeks later at Whiston Hospital in August last year.

Prior to his death, Smith’s son Craig had been jailed for assault and told his mother the man he attacked was a pedophile who had “touched him sexually,” the court heard.

Judge Amanda Yip, QC, said: “You found it difficult to take everything in, but made the connection between what Craig had said the day before he died and what your daughter was telling you.

“You were understandably very upset.

“You were described as being livid and fuming.”

After dishing out her own brand of home-brewed justice, Smith reportedly fled the family residence and went to a house that was nine doors down, where she told a neighbor about the assault, saying: “I’ve hurt him really bad, I think I’ve killed him.”

The neighbor contacted the police and an ambulance was sent to the wounded man.

Police found Baines “in excruciating pain and whimpering in bed with the skin on his right arm and hand peeling off,” according to the BBC.

Smith’s husband of 38 years suffered burns to 36% of his body.

“He was in hospital for five weeks and needed repeated surgery and skin grafts, but he died a month later, on August 18, last year,” the Liverpool Echo reported.

Cheshire Constabulary detective chief inspector Paul Hughes said Smith “killed her husband Michael in such a painful and cruel way.”

“To throw boiling water over someone when they are asleep is absolutely horrific,” Hughes added.

“To also mix three bags of sugar with the water showed the determination she had to cause serious harm.”

“The sugar placed into the water makes it vicious,” he continued.

“It becomes thicker and stickier and sinks into the skin better.

“It left Michael in agony.”

The day before the lethal attack, Smith’s daughter allegedly told her that Baines sexually assaulted her and her brother, according to the New York Post.

Michael Baines was rushed to hospital but died after weeks of agony

Smith’s daughter claimed Baines had sexually abused her and her brother “for many years when they were children.”

“Smith had claimed manslaughter due to loss of control but a jury found her guilty of murder following a trial last month,” The Sun reported.

“She was in control and acted in anger and to exact vengeance for what she believed that Michael had done,” prosecutor Mark Rhind told the Chester Crown Court.

“We say that she intended either to kill Michael or to cause him really serious harm and so she is guilty of murder.”

“We cannot and do not say whether these allegations made about Michael Baines are true or not…but that is not the issue for you in this case because the prosecution certainly accept that these allegations were made, and that Corinna Baines believed them to be true at the time that she caused the fatal injuries to Michael,” prosecutors said.

On Friday, Smith was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years to life.

What was the sugar suppose to do though ???

Boiling syrup sticks to the skin like Napalm. Much, much worse burns than water alone.

...and adds to the total heat volume of the mixture (BTUs in the bucket so to speak). Extra koodo’s for thinking things through!

Turned it into a tar like substance that stuck to the skin.

From the article. “To also mix three bags of sugar with the water showed the determination she had to cause serious harm.””The sugar placed into the water makes it vicious,” he continued.”It becomes thicker and stickier and sinks into the skin better.”It left Michael in agony.”

Kinda like the old west: When there is no law, the citizens out of necessity take it into their own hands. There is always a tree nearby.

Call me skeptical when the daughter waits so long to tell about it. There’s an extreme level of proof needed before I’d take matter into my own hands, even in places like the UK where criminals have more rights than victims (unless the “victim” is an offended Muslim).

now he gets to try to explain his actions to his Lord and Creator.

I very much doubt that God was this guy’s Lord. And he was going to get that opportunity at some point anyhow. God’s justice delayed is not God’s justice denied.

Apparently, the sugar was meant to make the water thicker so it would stay on the body longer. A diabolical thought, but then again, it’s really hard to feel much sympathy for the man.

I don’t know if her motive was to torture or simply to kill. If only guns were more available there he could have been saved a lot of pain.

And I cut her some slack on the “revenge” front, considering what preceded it.

Now c'mon, take a bottle, shake it up
Break the bubble, break it up

Pour some sugar on me
Ooh, in the name of love
Pour some sugar on me
C'mon, fire me up
Pour your sugar on me
I can't get enough

I'm hot, sticky sweet
From my head to my feet, yeah

Yes a burn from something sugary or syrupy does tend to tingle a bit...

Thanks for posting the article.

There’s no way to know of course if the guy was a pedo or not. But the general consensus is that if there is this type of abuse in the family - the mother usually knows it’s happening and choses to ignore it.

Who knows?
