Ha! What a euphemism! SMS carriers / phone companies have been coerced, corrupted and bribed to hand over all manner of information to the gubmint about their customers' communications for decades.

I'm sure the Biden Admin can get these companies to do anything they want if the promise to absolve those same companies of liability, just as with the vaxxine manufacturers. Win-win for the Biden Admin.
