The “crisis” is the complete breakdown of black families and black culture. If we ended welfare, stopped paying for fatherless babies, and have the communities care for the poor and indigent, the problem would be gone in one or two generations.
There is no other solution.
NYC is the regulation zone. It’s horrid and hopefully the Supreme Court will trounce this and other anti-Second Amendment statutes.
Expecting and asking people to be civilized is racist.
And all hope for NYC goes down the drain. Adams is a evil as De Blasio, only headed in a different direction.
NYC has a handgun crisis, alright, but the crisis is that there are not enough of them being carried through NYC by law abiding citizens.

Hey AC, you’re correct on the conclusion Eric Adams will have great latitude on policing but we’ll see what he does with it. It’s an open question.
As to “Stop & Frisk” those details were highly effective. I know people who were connected to it and they can tell if someone is carrying a gun even in winter with heavy clothing just by watching them walk.
Unfortunately, the program is unconstitutional but Commie Wilhelm pulled the plug on it entirely even without the stop and frisk part.
That’s when NYC crime numbers began their spiral climbing to the stratosphere.
If Eric Adams is serious, he will put these details back out on the streets. It’s not illegal for a detective to go over and talk to someone.
That ain’t gonna happen. But I guaranty you that if the leftists were compelled to put young black gang bangers in jail because they got caught “in the possession of an illegal gun,” that would turn the left against gun control. Look at what happened in NY. Giuliani implemented stop and frisk, which is in essence gun control, and the left went crazy.
Sounds like “stop and frisk” may make a comeback in NYC.
ILLEGAL HANDGUN problem
It’s neither.
Our crisis is an habitual criminal crisis.
The gangbangers specifically.
Black gangbangers kill more black people every two years than we’re lynched in the bad old days, are responsible for a lions share of drug and property crime and are, to be frank, the millstone hung beneath their neighbors and familys’ wings.
If every gangbanger of every ethnicity dropped dead one day life would immediately start to improve for many, many people. Black people might benefit the most.

But who are wielding handguns in a "problematic" way? Democrats do not like to say.

It is an ‘evil idiot’ crisis.
Adams is probably better than the current commie but he is not a Giuliani.
The gun laws on the books, all of them, are unConstitutional already. Every one of them infringes on the right to keep and bear arms.
The Media harps on “Gun Violence” ... But the problem is not gun violence, the problem is ... Violence ... with guns, with knives, with fists, with bats, etc.
