Russia and China are coordinating military exercises to threaten not only Taiwan but also Hawaii, according to a senior Japanese defense official who warned the United States to beware of a Pearl Harbor-style surprise attack.
“We have to show the deterrence towards China, and not just China but also the Russians, because, as I told you, that they are doing their exercises together,” Japanese deputy Yasuhide Nakayama told the Hudson Institute this week.
Taiwan’s vulnerability to an invasion from mainland China has become a preoccupation of Indo-Pacific strategists in recent months, as Chinese Communist forces escalate their military drills around the island. Nakayama, who was unusually frank about the need for democratic nations to ensure Taiwan’s survival, implied that Russia and China are working as allies preparing for a major conflict.
“I think the Taiwanese are really concerned,” he said. “And also, they’re focusing on the two big countries collaborating and [presenting] a lot of threat towards Taiwan."
US AND JAPAN WARN CHINA NOT TO ATTACK TAIWAN
Chinese Communist officials regard Taiwan as a renegade province, one that they have claimed since coming to power in 1949 but never governed. Most countries recognize the regime in Beijing as the official Chinese government and do not have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan, although the U.S. has maintained a friendly relationship and provided weaponry to help Taiwanese authorities deter an invasion from the mainland.
“We have to protect Taiwan as a democratic country,” Nakayama said before suggesting that world leaders may have erred during the Cold War by seeming to concede that Taiwan would eventually be reunited with mainland China. “Was it right? ... I don’t know.”

The CCP has been achieving its objectives without having to commit to a conventional assault, so there’s nothing for them to gain, and much to lose from a “Pearl Harbor” type attack.
Their use of COVID, while aided and abetted by our own government and public officials, was still highly effective.
They have compromised the Biden family, and surely have dirt on Joe.
Their use of social media platforms to sow dissent has got to be even more effective than they could have imagined in their wildest dreams.
They’ve got boots on the ground giving training and support to our mentally ill home-grown “Antifa” dopes, which may be their most effective propaganda victory of all.
The US is destabilized, and objectively weaker than we were just a short year ago, and the CCP knows it, and is continuing to push.

If China is serious about invading Taiwan, and I think they are, they’d be fools not to take out as much of the Pacific fleet as possible, in concert with their attack. Towards that end, Pearl, Yokosuka, Guam, Bremerton, and San Diego would all be in the cross-hairs. It is only pragmatic that they would, and one can imagine the carefully calculated war plan that they would undertake to win. Inflict severe damage on the Pacific fleet, without using nukes, and it’s hard to imagine what we could do to evict them from Taiwan, short of all out nuclear retaliatory strike. I’m not certain that this country has the mettle to go to all out armageddon over Taiwan.
Pray that senator Hirono is there when they do.

That would just be to repeat the same blunder the Japanese made in 1941. Once the USA is attacked, even Biden would have to go to war. The right approach for the CCP would be to just invade Taiwan with overwhelming force and hope the USA doesn’t respond. They would be fools to do anything else.
Sad but true. If they are going to go after any territory, best President ever for that in the White Hut now. The woke military is prepared for invasion, too. Milley is dumb as a box of rocks.
A half million Chinese can invade Hawaii, and I could see the state issuing birth certificates to all of them. They did it for Sun Yat-Sen, who actually went to the same school as Obama in Hawaii.
Don’t underestimate the history of, or what in all reality is the modern, humanist l, no moral boundaries, “Pink Swastika”, and what they can and will do.
Like pre-Bolshevic Russia, and 1930’s Germany, they are already in advanced to last stages in taking over the entire US IC, DOD, all Fedgov agencies, all three branches of government, and have near total control of all major media, press, entertainment, social, and edu networks.
WWII was mere “pre school” dry run for what happens next.
And in large part because of W Clinton efforts or acquiescence at the UN in 1993, Russian and Chinese subs (or others) can launch whatever they want from 12 nautical miles of our coastline.
