“Like CB, I often am only certain when it is past tense.”
I’m glad to hear that because it makes me feel better that I am not understanding God’s message to me, if there even is one. I read the Bible and the people were so sure of what they were supposed to do. I feel like I’m doing something wrong, because nothing is clear to me.
I love how you guys live on faith, just waiting to see what is next. It is very inspiring.
There is something about waiting on the LORD. My sister is a testimony to that. Doors opened and jobs came to her. If you are in GOD’S Will, you are where you are supposed to be.
There might be one person that needs a touch from GOD via you before He moves you on to the next “assignment”. As my Dad sang “Brighten the Corner Where You Are”.
We’re on a Spiritual Journey.
Well, for one thing, the Bible was written with the benefit of hindsight.
Second, I doubt that Moses knew what he was in for when he was growing up in Pharaoh’s family. Or Moses’ mother when she hid him, for that matter.
Third-I’ve been told all my life that if we knew what God’s plans are for us ahead of time, we’d probably balk!
You have honored me with your kind words. You have no idea the turmoil inside of me. I have never figured out how to keep thoughts from churning up inside. I mentioned Matthew 25:1-10 a few days ago. In that spirit, we are making tentative plans to both stay here and pack up to leave at the same time.
For me completely understanding scripture and all the different Church Doctrines has been very difficult. Like I said before all I know is to profess that Jesus Christ is my Savior.
There has been 2 times that I really called out to him that I recall. The first time was in 1979 when my husband wanted to give up everything we had in California and lose his teachers retirement and come to WA to start an Instant Print Business. I called out to the Lord and said “Lord if this is what we are to do then send someone to buy our house.” In about 2 days time there was a knock on our door and a couple asked if we would want to sell our house? I knew that was the answer that we were to leave Calif. Did the sale all by owner.
The second time it was I believe in 2006. I was driving on the freeway my husband was the passenger. This was during the day. I was in the left lane going around a curve when my husband said something doesn’t look right. That is when I saw a car coming at us head on. I tried to move into the right lane but we were right where cars were merging in. So I was either going to be hit head on or hit by cars merging. I kept steering back & forth trying to keep from being hit either way, but I knew if I kept doing that I was going to roll the car. So I called out and said “Lord it is in your hands.” I then let go of the steering wheel and took my foot off the gas. My car then turned around heading back the other direction hitting the cement divider on the right side and it stopped. Neither one of us were injured. Somehow people got the older man with Dementia turned around and thank the Lord he never hit anyone, but he kept on driving. People got his plate number for me though.
So that is my testimony that I know the Lord exists. I don’t ask what am I supposed to do because it is all right there in the 10 commandments. As far as what is going on now in our country, those that are able, do what Mark Levin has outlined in his book. The rest is up to the Lord as it is his universe.
