The flooding is because of heavy rains experienced during monsoon, especially higher up the mountain, that runs downhill.
The creeks and washes fill up and overflow their banks.
This is the normal time of yearly rain fall, just the past years have been sparse.
I’m loving it but we don’t have flooding problems.

I just heard that Show Low got 4.33 inches last night.
A friend of ours owns an interior shop in downtown Show Low.
They had 22 inches of water enter their showroom and warehouse, no flood insurance.
Not sure what they can salvage.
Many businesses and homes in the area flooded.
We got an inch overnight with more to come.
