Our existing cointry-hating marxist rulers should know this is premature.

In today’s politically correct world, any who would oppose this would be condemned as racist. Hence the unanimous consent. Everyone is afraid to oppose this because the liberals and media would crucify them as bigots.

Did Columbus Day survive as a federal holiday?

All this because the media wanted an excuse to bash Trump for holding a rally on Juneteenth, even though the vast majority of the country had no idea what it was.

A waste of time. We’ve done without it for well over 200 years. This will only focus on dividing us as Americans.
Same with Cinco de Mayo. Not really for us to be celebrating.

Wow. I’m stunned. I’m a federal employee and I already get 10 federal holidays, which was plenty. Now I will get 11.

It’s amazing, but somehow not surprising. One party rule can do anything—maybe a federal holiday every week? Whatever. It dilutes the value of the other federal holidays.

The midterms can’t come soon enough!

Just imagine the greeting cards and balloons! What about the “blow out sales” advertising? A friend quickly quipped, “Don’t be a sl@ve to high prices!”

What would Shoomah know about the “Wrongs of the past”?

Nobody in his family was here then.

My family was shooting at each other right up until my g-g-uncle was paroled at Appomattox by General Grant.

Shoomuhs didnt show up for what, another 50 years?

Hilarious to hear the sanctimonius SOB talk about it.

Ok fine. Now make an existing federal holiday a working day. How about MLK day.

1. why would anyone be against more holidays?

2. why would we NOT have a holiday celebrating the freeing of the slaves? why did it take this long to make it a holiday?

i get that there is a whole political shit sandwich involved here, and the (usually correct) knee jerk reaction is that "anything the lefties want is bad", but this is a good thing and is well overdue

Imagine what Blacks would say if they knew that so-called "native Americans" owned African slaves and CONTINUED to be allowed to enslave them even after "Juneteenth," and even after the 13th Amendment was ratified.

The Native Americans Who Owned Slaves

Ah, don't worry, thanks to Marxist white teachers, they will never find out!

Great, just great.

Why don’t they make Saint George Floyd’s, Saint Michael Brown’s and Saint Trayvon Martin’s birthdays federal holidays while they are at it.

In other news, Fake President Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Pootie Tang (posthumous) and will have a statue of him erected on the White House front lawn.

He was heard to say, "I'll have those n's voting democrat for the NEXT two hundred years".

Then his caretaker Jill led him to his room to go down for a nice nappy nap.

Yes. It really happened. Don't you dare question me.

If you are really going to celebrate the end of slavery, the date to celebrate is December 6, not June 19. December 6th, 1865 is the date of the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment which abolished slavery.

Slavery continued to exist, and was legal, in the four border states (Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and Delaware), as well as West Virginia and parts of Louisiana for almost six months after June 19, 1865.

June 19th is only relevant in southern Texas.

This was the day when Republicans sent troops to stop Democrats from gas lighting black people. When the current crop of Democrats realize this, the holiday will be banned as being racist.

If I were king if the forest...

Independence day, Veterans day, Memorial day.

Ok... and New Years Day.

That’s it. Thats all the fed holidays we need.

As for Thanksgiving and Christmas and any other religious holiday... take a vacation day that’s what those days are for.

Everything else is a waste of taxpayers money.

I firmly believe this, given the constraints of the modern and complex American society we live in these days.

This isn’t what Juneteenth means, certainly on a national level.

Ask Joe Biden why Delaware kept their slaves until December 1865.
