Got no smilodons here but do have bobcats...which will stay small, I hope.

You do know that the colder it gets, the hungrier the bob cats become? And the hungrier they are, the bigger their incisors grow? Smilodons didn’t become ‘extinct’, they just got smaller ...

“Maybe they’ll clone Wooly Mammoths in time for it.”

You are correct-we are just going into a solar minimum and Earth position that drove the last Little Ice Age/Maunder minimum-and that is the best-case scenario-the Winters have been getting colder here the last few years-last Winter was a great example-they’d better clone and breed those Wooly Mammoths fast-it is going to take time to find ranchers willing to raise them-miles of grassland needed for pastures-maybe clone some Direwolves to herd them, too-with a couple of possible exceptions, our modern herd dogs are probably not big and aggressive enough...

There are numerous products that have been invented specifically for use in preserving archaeological and historical paintings-both indoors and in the field-one of my cousins married an archaeologist-those paint/spray on preservatives were used in caves, rock shelters, etc at the Paleo-indian sites all over the West/Southwest-I’m sure some archaeologist in Indonesia will be happy to have that preservation project on their resume...

This is just more climate change whining...

I hadn’t thought of that one-but now it is stuck there-less dark than what I heard on the way home from work and was singing under my breath for awhile which was Morrison/The Doors “The End” This is the end, my only friend...

Thanks for the site-I like the photos...

My favorite Doors tune is actually “Roadhouse Blues”-I became a fan when they were brand new and I was a teen-later, my 1st hubby and I corrupted our cub with their music, among other heavy/hard rock groups...

Once when she she was filling out an application for a Summer job at a nearby LDS/Mormon Camp on the river, there was a question asking what she saw in her work future-being only 16 and not yet a deep thinker, she wrote “The future’s uncertain and the end is always near”. The employer apparently had no sense of humor-but hubby and I thought it was hilarious-today, we would probably be charged with child abuse for exposing her to that music, those sentiments, etc...

Thanks for the earworms(s)-now I’m going to dig out my Doors CD and put it in the truck to listen to on the way to work tomorrow AM...

Crazy but true story.

In 1981, I went to see Blue Oyster Cult at the [former] Cap Center.

We were sitting in the nose bleed section with a bunch of Marines in the row behind us.

BOC did their rocking cover of Roadhouse Blues as an encore and the Marines and I were singing along like crazy.

I wish I’d gone home with them.

:D

Now misguided people want to create a Solar Shield to “save us” from global warming.
They will wish we built solar mirrors to increase sunlight instead.
