Things Turn Ugly at Indian Wedding as Elephant Goes Berserk and Wreaks Havoc - Video
Sputnik ^

A groom in Prayagraj city of India’s Uttar Pradesh made a dramatic entry at his wedding venue in a horse-drawn chariot. To add some extra zing to his entry, the groom also booked a decked-up elephant to be part of his entourage.

Footage from the wedding has gone viral, capturing the moments when the elephant lost its calm and charged at the people around it. The animal can be seen going on a rampage, damaging decorations and vehicles in the parking lot of the lit venue.

People can be seen running around seeking cover, while the groom jumps out of his chariot to save his life from the enraged elephant.

Netizens commenting on the video noted that making such large animals participate in events like weddings is “inhumane”. People also defended the animal, saying the loud music and fireworks may have scared it.

Taking the bride’s side, the elephant objected to an arranged marriage

How do you stop a rogue elephant from charging?

Take away his credit card.

Maybe a discussion about the elephant in the room might have been appropriate.

In most cultures that still act like this, the elephant would be eaten at the end of the celebration.

Maybe it just didn’t want to hang around for the feast.

Could have been the 'loud music.' But, elephants do like music. There's a classical pianist who's dedicated part of his YouTube channel to playing for elephants in Thailand and the videos are....fascinating.

WOW. That elephant turned over a large truck completely upside down.

It was probably annoyed with all the flashing lights.

The elephant rolled a parked SUV. Repeatedly. Very impressive!

Out of fairness to the groom, he was probably about to be crushed inside the truck and needed to not be inside it at that moment.

For all we know, he was Batman after that. That will be his story, anyway.
