The way I look at is this. I own my home. Yes, I pay tax on it but it is mine if there are no liens on it. Very simple. When I bought my 31 acres in NH I paid cash. I own that mofo. Yes, I pay property taxes on it to support town services.
People need to get the hell over it. If you want complete anarchy join Antifa and don’t complain about the condition of the roads, schools, police or fire services.
And if you do complain and call the fire department when your house is burning down, I hope it burns to the ground.
Sorry, not sorry. That’s the way things work in a civilized society.

The way I look at it is this. You just got really unnecessarily Rude-like you have never complained about anything? It seems like the Devil must have taken over your keyboard/fingers, you drank too much, or lost your mind.
Now I’m all for paying taxes for needed services and supporting my community. The point I was making was that I did not approve of this METHOD of taxation. Just like I don’t approve of the Income tax. Both are violations of the foundations of our Republic. That’s a far cry from desiring anarchy.
And should runaway inflation and economic collapse become reality, don’t you dare complain when the county sells your home because you couldn’t afford the inflated cost of the Real Estate Tax or you actually paid the tax, but didn’t have enough money to buy food afterwards.
A sales tax would be fine. Regarding your tirade about houses burning down, that just shows a darkness at heart and that you are acting like a hateful human being.
My grand daughter’s home burned when she was 8 yrs. old. In later years she and her two babies barely escaped a burning trailer - her pet doggie did not make it out. My neighbor’s house burned. We all got together and got clothes and necessities for them and helped get them temporary shelter.
My Dad was a volunteer fireman. He regularly for decades risked his life to save people and their property. Generally he was the first man in. And I grew up knowing what awful damage fires caused and the danger in fighting them.
After my Dad had a heart attack, he trained and became a volunteer EMT and later Paramedic. I have followed in the family tradition of volunteering and supporting my community in areas that fit with my ability and knowledge.
And when I first moved here, the all volunteer fire department was supported by fire tags-which I gladly purchased with no complaint at all.
Going forward, please do NOT EVER post to me again. This post was UNCIVIL and this glimpse into your character has totally sickened me. 🤢🤮

Our fire department is all volunteer.
When you get a traffic ticket/citation, there is a myriad of fees for court services, administration services.
We pay property tax.
We pay school tax. (although our children do not attend the public schools)
We pay for trash/recycling/leaf pickup.
We pay for gas service.
We pay for water service.
We pay for sewer service.
We pay for electric service.
We pay for telecommunications service.
Many of the above services have local/state fees embedded or line-itemed.
Put a sock in it.
Snowybear just turned into Rainybear.
I see your points. Taxes to fund local LE, county roads and fire departments I can see.
Schools, no.
Civilized people would not be forced at the threat of violence (point of a gun) to pay for services. There are many other voluntary and civilized ways to accomplish the goal of funding civic services. Violence is only the answer to violence. Violence is not the answer to civic services. We're better than that. Taxation is robbery.
