for we "elderly" its important that we have a good crop of young people coming up....sooner or later, we're all going to need someone to wipe our behinds and feed us etc.....we depend on the younger generations.....least we can do is get them good schooling....

OTOH....property taxes should either stop being raised after you're in your house for some many years or there should be huge rebates....

we've lived in the same house for nearly 30 yrs and if taxes keep escalating I envision us being forced out.....thousands and thousands of dollars every year....

It might be time to move to a more senior friendly state. We have 43 acres, (30 in hay and 14 in hardwoods), a 70 year old farm house, and a 30x40 tractor/equipment building. Property taxes are around $650 a year.We live in a beautiful County with low property taxes. We don’t have many “services” but wouldn’t change anything.
