Ping for your list
Stuff your mask. Sail without me. I’m not playing the stupid games.
So, bottom line, nothing has really changed. They will still be asking for proof of vaccination.
This rule is so artfully worded, I guarantee, a lot of folks are going to be confused disappointed and very angry before their cruise even begins. They may have packed up, driven down and lined up all for nothing. I feel sorry for those working the ticket counters, i.e. the front lines.
Anyone and everyone that says “proof of vaccination” and not “proof of vaccination or that you have already had Covid” is immediately suspect and not following SCIENCE.
"Guests who do not provide documentation of full vaccination will be considered unvaccinated and will require a Covid test at the terminal at their own expense. Guests that do not meet the requirements will be denied boarding."
So if you're not vaccinated they require you to take a Covid test at your expense or you can't board. It's left unsaid whether meeting "the requirements" means testing negative.
Common sense, yes. My guess the policy has passed their attorneys review. And given the size of ships, some disappointed travelers. Especially any non vaccinated passenger who tests positive. I presume they’ll be disembarked at the next port, local health partners are required in the CDC guidelines as well though most lines already have them.
And if you test positive on the ship likely disembarked for quarantine, depending on the requirements of the country you're lucky enough to be in. My guess, Florida and Texas probably have quarantine requirements as well. An uncomfortable and risky form of travel for the unvaccinated.
"Unvaccinated adult guests are required to wear a mask at all times, except while eating or drinking or in their stateroom."
I imagine this would be a showstopper for most unvaccinated people.
I give this policy 60 days or less. I think they’ll discover that while avid cruise fans may be completely ‘on-board’ with this ‘keep the lepers from us’ policy, there’s a good portion who will just stay home. This isn’t accommodation, it’s public shaming.
Not if you've already had it. In all seriousness, that Venn between "had it" or "got the jab" is a vastly shrinking minority.
Furthermore, there was a story just this week about a woman caught COVID-19 around Thanksgiving and didn’t show any symptoms. She then got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine in April. Now, she’s having to quarantine again after she tested positive for COVID-19.
Now what is interesting, is that you have cruise regulars who haven't cruised in nearly 2 years, and that amount of time likely permitted common cruise ship norovirii to mutate into something fresh...
biden, fauxi, and the cdc recommending masks and vaccines for our citizens to stop the spread of a “deadly virus” after biden opened the border, invited, welcomed, and continues to freely spread thousands of “disease carrying invaders” across our country during a “global pandemic” reeks of hypocrisy and proves we’re being lied to about the severity of this so called “deadly virus”...
This will not go over well with a lot of potential customers.
This company can shove it.
Maybe steerage class will make a come-back for those of us refusing The Mark.
1127 This subsection does not otherwise restrict businesses from
1128 instituting screening protocols consistent with authoritative or
1129 controlling government-issued guidance to protect public health.
I’ll wait until they start asking for your AIDS card showing that you don’t have HIV. Those who refuse to comply will have to get an HIV test at their own expense and then stowed in steerage.
Two words...no way.
Never been on a cruise so I have no idea of the typical demographics but, as counter-intuitive as this is to my way of thinking, I bet they will get decent turnout from the sheeple.
We knew it was weak, they should have made it a Felony to Possess a COVID Passport and Import or Distribute one.
Won’t happen. AIDS is not CONTAGIOUS without sex. Covid is.
