*sigh*. Maybe soon this nightmare will all be over. The nightmare (for me) of even those on the “right’ being deluded by a charismatic figure and his lackeys: Trump and his team.
I supported Trump and voted for him twice. Never again. Even if he runs in 2024. Even if he’s the GOP nominee. Period.

The latest news that he’s apparently giving weight to the idea of being “reinstalled” in August after the audits should be enough for anyone to reach the same conviction. Any sane person at least. Even if it’s not true, even if such reports are “MSM nonsense” made to make him look bad, all he has to do is release a statement saying he has no intention of trying to retake the office before 2024 (25).
If he at least did that, then maybe I wouldn’t be so harsh in my judgement as above. But that he hasn’t, has told me all I need to know about him. The final nail in the proverbial coffin of my opinion about him, and really, I’d submit any rational, independently thinking person.
I would have hoped his ongoing actions since Nov 3 2020 had convinced at least some others that his intentions are, at best, fueled by sycophants feeding him “news” he wants to hear. At worst, they reflect a deeply flawed man, whos primary concern is not the country or its best interests but his ego and attention given to same. But with this final news, I’m simply at a loss in my brain to explain how conservatives can continue to support such a man.
I have promised to post more about the election 2020, proof that the courts *did* “hear the evidence” but rejected it because it wasn’t real evidence, but I just haven’t had the time to deep dive into all the analysis required of the various “proofs” of widespread fraud since then, because the goalposts keep shifting (like on the left, nothing is ever enough). So I’ve decided to hold off, at least for now especially with the ongoing recounts/audits. Besides who knows, maybe it’ll show something interesting (probably not).
Besides it’s not worth it now, his true character is exposed to anyone who isn’t enslaved to a near deification of the man in their mind. I only hope that after such audits, that maybe some more like myself (and apparently you I don’t know though) wake up to the delusion that has somehow taken root in so many who call themselves “conservatives”.
Conservatism, at least that which I’ve always supported, used to be, at least in part, accepting real loss and moving on, pressing onward and accepting defeat as also God’s mysterious will, ultimately resting in the fact that this world is only temporary, and only our soul is eternal. That if something doesn’t go as expected, or as we imagined, we must obey *reality*, and accept it, unlike the left who relies on emotion based “arguments” to further their agenda that denies reality, in a vain (in every sense of the word “vanity”) attempt to preserve one’s personal world view.
Returning to FR on occasion these days only makes me sadly realize that such emotional defensive mechanisms are not only confined to the left. Maybe in time the clear bright line between conservatism and leftism, based on facts and reason and not a defensive mechanism that refuses to deal with reality, may return again.
