They might be really old. The Sahara was way more green 5000 years ago.

I see bikini tops, or, a celebration of the feminine form...
Am I the only one?
(This happens to me sometimes on the APOD thread.)
That looks like something to do with agriculture, especially the one on the top right, terracing.
Look at the scale........................
Looking at that is like trying to pick out a good landing spot when your engine quits at 8000 feet.
I think they are saying the ancient lines that look like irrigation ditches are really just modern irrigation ditches. But the squiggly ditch next to them really is ancient art and not where the modern tractor driver was goofing around.
Look at some examples of large terraced agriculture; https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=large+terraced+agriculture

That’s reading a lot into these lines. Nazca Lines they ain’t. The serpent-like figure is connected to the main assortment on the left, so it might not have even intended to be its own thing. The figures they describe as giant and small spirals aren’t very good spiral shapes. I can think of possibilities besides religious or artistic.
// ...random squiggly line... //
RSL for short ... I like it!
Your home page is wonderful, always.
Those appear to be tracks left by off-road vehicles before they were banned in the 4th century B.C.
*hits hand on forehead*
Why of course! Global warming and capitalism!
Probably white supremacy and privilege as well!
Those ancient folks were pretty advanced!
// Mom, we’re bored.

ROFL! Says every mother ever alive, and as plausible as anything else.
Like way back when the dead sea was only sick.......
That’s what I thought. They mention that some of the lines had trees growing in them and others did not. So maybe they all had trees in the past.
I am seeing several bikini tops. Seems to be an early Bronze Age Coppertone ad.
Me too. See post #39.
And I posted that before I saw your post.
