I have personal risk assessment considerations driving my vax timing.
But totalitarianism just raises the rebel in me. I’m becoming vastly more resistant ... to force.
You can download your own off the Internet as a PDF and print it out on a piece of card stock if you want to be really authentic, or just print one out look up pictures of some to write down some legitimate lot numbers of vaccines, add some random medical scribble for the location, take a picture and be done with it
We have stores with signs “No proof of vaccination, no mask, no service”
Yup. But since I’m behind enemy lines, I choose my battles.
I look for a sign. If there is none, I pocket my mask and proceed. I’m usually the only person unmasked to-date.
If there is a sign - ‘mask required’ - I wear it, albeit under my nose (something many Oregon businesses have adopted to bypass the ridiculous OHA BS on ‘checking papers’ and confronting customers on ‘status’).
If there is a sign - no ‘mask’ sign, but indicating ‘fully-vaccinated’ re the Oregon rule - I look for door watchers.
If there is one, I don the mask and promptly remove it once inside.
Waiting for a confrontation in that respect. Screw ‘em. No business in their right mind wants to make this a personal matter with anyone, as the stakes are too high (liability).
Caveat: But you always have the one or two stores who take their cues from ‘Karen’ (Trader Joes is one, a couple of lefty others as well).
So according to the Oregon Department of health, the vaccines don’t work if someone who is not vaccinated is unmasked near a vaccinated person. That’s not exactly what they said, but if you read between the lines it’s what they are saying.
Yes, the court would dismiss. This has been litigated over and over and over again. HIPAA never included a private right of action.
“Every district court that has considered this issue is in agreement that the statute does not support a private right of action.” Acara v. Banks, 470 F.3d 569, 571–72 (5th Cir. 2006).
There is no private right of action under HIPAA, express or implied. Meadows v. United Servs., 963 F.3d 240, 242 (2d Cir. 2020).
No private right of action exists under HIPAA in any event, Lucero v. United States, No. 20-1163, 2021 U.S. App. LEXIS 6308, at *6 (10th Cir. Mar. 4, 2021)
HIPAA does not provide an express or implied private right of action... Kittel v. Advantage Physical Therapy, No. 19-55690, 2021 U.S. App. LEXIS 1185, at *3 (9th Cir. Jan. 15, 2021).
HIPAA “provides no private right of action.” Webb v. Smart Document Sols., LLC, 499 F.3d 1078, 1081 (9th Cir. 2007).
It’s going to be fun when the racial breakdown of who gets the COVID passports starts to come out.
I’m in Oregon. How do we fight this? Is there any organized effort in Oregon to oppose the ID card?
They aren’t asking...just came from Walmart...I didn’t Don a mask...no one asked...lots of people with masks on...
No plans to visit Oregon anytime soon. As long as they are pulling {censored} like this, I will stay away. I can make that indefinite, even permanent.
Yes, I had my smallpox vaccination.
Idaho does NOT require masks or vaccines. Why drag Idaho into this nonsense?!
For an extra touch, you can use clear plastic packing tape on both sides of your fake card to make it look laminated.
We have motor voter. If you have a driver’s license, you are registered to vote, for eternity.
Oregon can require businesses in their state to demand their customers wear only pink dresses if they want, but I won’t spend any money with businesses who check vaccination status. There is no law that says I have to shop at their business and it’s clear here in Oregon they don’t want my business anyway. What is not making the news is that most Oregon businesses and Oregon voters SUPPORT the strict rules. Oregon is a state dominated by a cult. Most “conservatives” are leaving or have already left anyway. We’re moving as well. Tired of giving these evil morons my tax dollars.
“ But I don’t want to put up with any fall-out because I’m not a ‘card carrying member of the sheeple’. ”
Doesn’t that make you one of them?
Since when does the Oregon Health Authority get to pass laws? I’m getting sick and tired of the CDC, etc. telling us all what to do when they have no authority to do so.
Or buy a laminator...
You might have friends who need them...
