Damn! 1000 employees who think they can tell Tim Cook what to do. No, at most 999 since the article says 'nearly' (smile).
Given your accurate report of 147,000 (2020) worldwide employment, at 999 the percentage is a minuscule 0.68% of that workforce.

Not entirely true. They are credited with the invention of the cell phone bomb ...

They’ll all fall into line. Cue Coke, Delta, the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc. to make this their newest cause celebre.
How will Democrats handle sitting on this knifeblade?

Why would apple management want to get involved in this tar baby?
Since this is Free Republic I know that I can refer to 'tar baby' but if I were on twatter, it would be banned.

“How is Tim Cook supposed to influence U.S. Foreign Policy?”
If Tim Cook called Biden and said I want to see you in 15 minutes, I bet my bottom dollar they would be meeting in 15 minutes. There is a lot of money at stake. Of course, if Xi called Tim Cook and said the same thing, they would also be meeting in 15 minutes.

Now I want to hear the thoughts of the “Apple Jewish Association” and the “Apple Christian Association.”

Either fire 1,000 people or send them to China to work in the prison camps making iPhones.

Thanks Swordmaker. Even a statement equating the jihadists and jihad with self-determination and self-defense will be a slippery-slope/sloppy-thinking piece of agitprop. It also doesn't make sense from a business standpoint, but would
make sense
in the context of the late Steve Jobs' paternal biological origin.

...the late Steve Jobs' paternal biological origin. To the best of my knowledge, Steve Jobs was adamant about not involving Apple in politics. Whatever his background or personal beliefs, he knew better than to mix business with politics. It can only result in the loss of part of your customer base, often as much as 50%. He was interested in making cool innovative products, and making money. Tying your business identity to politics is bad business.
Jobs was smarter than that. But he's been dead a decade, and a lot has changed.
