I'm not much of a drinker since downing a quart of Tequila one night about 45 years ago - never been that miserable since. I usually have a Mac and water while waiting for my wings & jo - jos to go from Bob's Tavern, which might be 4 times a year.
Two of my best friends are dead from alcohol abuse - they just could not stop.

I remember old time AA meetings where they told us that every time you took a drink it killed brain cells. Keep in mind, we killed a lot of them just to get there.
