Mrs. Copaliscrossing and I were looking for a TV show to watch and decided on New Amsterdam because we liked the lead actor when he was in The Blacklist. Well, it all started out pretty good and we were getting into it then... ugh... the far left political messaging started getting stronger and stronger with subjects like hiring disparity between minorities and white people and other pet liberal causes. Sooo disappointing. The same thing happened to us when we got into Madame Secretary and Lone Survivor. We have decided we are better off staying with the streaming content that usually stays to a sane storyline instead of pushing a political agenda. Still have to be careful with that.

Have you tried “The Americans”? It’s about deep cover Soviet Spies in the 80s. It’s a great show. It’s a very adult show, some pretty explicit sex for whatever network it was originally on. Maybe it’s an FX show? Don’t know but you can watch in on Amazon I think.
It’s really excellent. The spies are the protagonists, but it still shows you the horror of Communism. And very much brings back that era.
I haven’t watched any of the shows you mention (I think hubby has watched some of them) but I’ll always recommend The Americans.

New Amsterdam was where several of my ancestors settled, but I know you mean the program. Haven’t watched it. I hate medical programs. Guess I got my fill with Dr. Kildare, and Ben Casey. I only watch three cable TV shows...SEAL Team, Prodigal Son, and Evil, and they just cancelled Prodigal Son, so I’m down to two now.
Why would you not know that Madame Secretary was a political ad to favor the Hildabeast for It’s POTUS run?
Same thing happened with SVU a couple of years ago. Each episode since has been worse and worse. It’s a shame because I love all things L&O
Buy an antenna. Check out the retro networks. Quality from the golden age (50s, early 60s) of TV on numerous channels.
Downtown Abbey is still better than anything else on TV. Excellent series. I was sorry they ended the show a few years ago. You can find it streaming online now.

Exactly. Yet another show that wants to lecture me on White Supremacy, Native American rights, BLM, and the LBGTQ community. Can we have a show without a gay couple in it? Evidently not. Go through the Prime Time TV shows and list one that doesn’t try to sell you a message on one of the above.
I’m tired of Jackson on Grey’s Anatomy telling me he can’t drive a nice car without getting pulled over. He says it happens because he’s black. That’s true, now ask the REAL question: Why do blacks get pulled over more than other minorities? It’s because of black behavior. People don’t trust them. A 15 year old black kid on a bike sucker punches an 80 year old white lady as he rides by. Two days ago a young black woman karate kicks an older lady onto the tracks in a subway station. Blacks have a behavioral problem that they need to fix...not us...them.
Interesting that the entire White Supremacy crap came out literally days after a story showing how black were starting to support Trump because he did more for them in 4 years than the Democrats have done in 100 years.
I am so tired of explaining to my grandkids why two men or two women are kissing in bed. I should not have to do that.
I’m equally tired of “woke” corporations expecting everyone to support BLM, which is little more than a bunch of thugs with a slogan. Politicians kneeing for 9 minutes for George Floyd. Really? Read his arrest record and how he held a gun to a pregnant lady’s belly as he robbed her. That’s a national hero? Are we that distorted. Have those same politicians keeled for a policeman, soldier, firefighter or anyone else who is a REAL hero. Of course not, because it wasn’t a photo op.
All of this just makes me sick. I miss my country...
Virtually everything produced for television, the movies, or advertising, has to carry a WOKE message for the proletariat.

So far, I am happy with “Blue Bloods”, but if they get “Woke” I will get with the off button. I think this is the last season regardless. “Law and Order SVU” had an episode a couple of months back where actor Christopher Meloni returned, turned off that wet leftist fantasy before ten minutes had gone by. Worthless crap. Not worth the time it took to watch.

Have you seen “The Serpent”?
No political message or axe to grind. Just a great detective story in SE Asia with a huge multi-national set of characters: Dutch, Canadian, English, Thai, Australian, American, and Indian. It’s a “who done it” but you know who did it from the very start. It’s scary and keeps you on the edge of your seat, but there is almost no violence. It’s a detective story without a detective.
Well I pretty knew where it was heading. I saw the first episode of New Amsterdam and picked up some clue where it was heading. Shaun Cassidy happens to be one of the writers of the show and he is a far left liberal unlike his Mpther Shirley Jones and his brother Patrick who are Republicans.
I tried that for the same reason. Ugh, utter dreck.
We are watching Burn Notice again.
