That fire was a little alarming, but no boom at the end, so I guess it’s all good.
A 100t reusable rocket platform seriously changes what is possible to do in space. This could be the milestone of Henry the Navigator significance.
Wow.
That was impressive!
Ping, was incredible.
just a nice landing on two raptors, small fire put out will water cannons. at this moment still venting, robo doggies out looking sn15 over.
“Sticks the landing”
Did they get unstuck? LOL
This is great progress. Space X is moving fast in advancing US capabilities, but I wonder after the Biden team wreck the economy and continue to destroy education, if the US will be able to sustain and advance such a space program from the chaos the Marxists are spreading throughout the country and the ever greater need to deficit spend to support their Woke warriors.
Spacex — Making rocket launches almost boring.
Doing things NASA couldn’t have dreamed of 15 years ago, nevermind at the beginning of the space race.
Wonderful accomplishment. I was watching live, but too bad there were too many clouds to see much of what was going on.
Yeah, they almost stuck the landing in the dirt off of the edge of the pad!
Check out SN 15’s position relative to the landing pad edge in the video of the rocket once the exhaust smoke clears and they turn on the remote control firehoses to deal with the post-landing methane fuel fire.
BTW, I am a big SpaceX fan. So this is embarrassing and, as Jürgen Prochnow (Das Boot, Dune (1984)) has said: “Damn Sloppy!”
And it didn’t blow up!!!!! Yay!!!
Woke Boeing hit hardest
This is impressive, but its still only 10km, not space flight. As I recall, the rocket equations used in the Apollo days (when most of the physics of space flight were solved) showed that single stage to orbit was not nearly as efficient as multi stage, dumping the useless mass as you go. I would really like to see the math that supports that this single stage to orbit concept will allow for a reasonable payload AND propellant for a soft return to the pad.
