A few months ago I did research into sanctuary states, or ones with sanctuary cities/counties, states that allow illegals to get drivers licenses, and states with motor voter laws. Oregon is such a state. Stuffed with illegals, and anyone getting a DL is automatically given voter registration, and now it’s online and no documents must be presented. A number of others states are just as bad. So, countless illegals have DL and are registered to vote.
Thus, showing a DL is not sufficient. If India can have national voter ID cards, surely the US can do it. Such a card will prevent illegals or non-citizens from voting, plus people voting in places they don’t legally reside, etc.

Beginning October 1, 2021, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States. Check for the star. REAL ID-compliant cards are marked with a star at the top of the card.
In order to get the real Id, we had to present our birth certificate and several other documents. So just expand it to include voting- no real Id no vote. Besides, the national id will only be as good as the states enforcement-so fix the states derps.
I added your name since you and HLB were discussing the topic. I think a voter ID separate is a better idea, as it should give precint or locality to vote in too. I don’t have a real ID and don’t plan to get one as I plan to never fly again!
