Yahoo made me change the pass word to my email that I've had since 1998, lost the pass word and can't get it back. I do NOT want yahoo again.
Also need to know how to notify F.R. of the change.
The problem with that is if you change your ISP, for a variety of reasons, you lose your email.
Having something separate give you a lot more flexibility.
I recommend ProtonMail, too. It’s encrypted, no ads, no landing page with links to news stories to get passed.
Just buy “Forever stamps”
It’s quick and easy with post office.com
Dittos for ProtonMail.
That looks interesting.
I wouldn’t use Google if it were mandatory.
I second protonmail.com. And you can get a free limited VPN with that.
How do you recover lost passwords?
Protonmail
You can reset your password.

Without an alternate email account or a cell phone?
One more vote for Protonmail here.
That, and AOL. They keep sending me CD’s with free minutes.
Dissenter
Whoops!
Meant Proton mail...
Mail.com
#46 I wouldn’t use Google if it were mandatory.
You get a free gmail account with the vaccine shot.... : )
Yes you can. Do it right there on the website.
How do you recover lost passwords?
Well there is an option to list a recovery email but it is not required.
As a follow-up to that I had quite many “junk” emails I used to sign up for sites and such. Some of them began their drive to collect more data and started required secondary email or cell #’s.
Almost weeks into that I began getting messages like “we have detected strange activity on your email account”, please confirm the account. Suddenly, a secondary email was not good enough, only a phone confirmation. Accounts I had for 15 years suddenly gone and could not be recovered until I gave them my cell. Never a problem with any of them before companies began being data gluttons.
This happened at aol, yahoo, mail.com, hotmail. So I have started using protonmail exclusively as my free email option.
