Knew lots of Vietnamese back in the day. The only ones that were G***s were the ones shooting at me. Not sorry for that.Amen brother. We had plenty of nicknames for them, both the enemy and the white mice around Saigon. It was a hard habit to get out of when talking about 'persons of Asia' to not lapse into using the nicknames, especially if a few vets got together. Unfortunately it's an ingrained thing. It was with some WW2 Pacific theater uncles I had, and I have a living Korean war vet uncle that still carries a blinding hatred that seems very hard to temper.
But like ALL races have pet names for other races and cultures, some demeaning and some silly. It seems only the names one particular race uses for races of color are deemed the racists.
Davis will have to do like others, the real feelings can be hidden and verbalized inside, but never actually said other than in very safe company. Human nature and tribalism are eons old and todays SJW class just cannot change that.

From Korea, then ‘nam. Might go back to WW II.Seems the wars develop a lot of terms for their adversaries. It's not always racial either. WW2 gave us Kraut, WOP, Heinie, Fritz, Hans, Jerry, nip, Japs, and yes the G00k word, russkie, ivan.
The military has a rich history in naming conventions for those they fought.
