Having pondered for some time what kind of solution is there to all the anti-gunners who are adamant about restricting or removing the Second Amendment rights of Law abiding Americans, I think I may have arrived at a solution or at least something to debate and throw into the Congressional mix (when it comes to Bill passage).
I would suggest that any representative (or Senator) who feels obligated to go against their oath to Support and Defend the Constitution (especially the Second Amendment - Shall not be Infringed), be required to forfeit their Second Amendment rights as a condition of signature onto any such Bill that modifies or further restricts the Second Amendment.
So, if there is a desire to ban a firearm, force an indefinite waiting period, restrict the commerce of firearms and firearm related materials across State Lines , then that Representative or Senator must freely and willingly, without compensation, turn over any and all firearms in their possession to their local law enforcement, and have their names placed on the FBI no sell list for any future firearm purchases.
Additionally, due to their belief in restricting the rights or even disarming the regular citizen,, then they are also banned from any armed protective service (Capital Police or any Armed Protective Details).
I do believe that if these conditions were placed before these sanctimonious gutter dwellers then the votes might actually shift away from "certain passage" to more like "certain defeat".
Seeing as I live in the Peeples Demokratic Republik of Mary-Land, and since my Rep is Stinky Hoyer, I know writing to him will not result in any action... but maybe someone in the "Red States" can forward to their Rep or Senator to maybe get this ball rolling?
Just a thought and hope it could happen.
They will still have armed guards!
contact through twitter. He gets very few replies. I am suspended (since the day Trump was also)

I think people have it all wrong on the 2nd amendment, it does not grant a rant it removes the authority of the federal government to control the right to bear arms.
*rant = right
I write Hoyer often... I never expect him to do anything I ask as we are on separate ends of the political spectrum. All I ever receive are form letter replies reaffirming his political ideology.
Exactly right.
P Lease note Para four....
“Additionally, due to their belief in restricting the rights or even disarming the regular citizen,, then they are also banned from any armed protective service (Capital Police or any Armed Protective Details).”
The would still be covered by those protecting unspecified individuals.
Still doesn’t change the intent.
Vote to restrict is acceptable - ONLY after Rep/Senator has willingly forfeited their 2nd Amendment rights.
That is quite dangerous thinking. If one can force removal of Constitutional then the other side can come in and take away the Constitution also.
?? Unspecified individuals?? Can you be more cryptic?
They are trying... HB-8, HB-1, ....
IOW the contracts for their protection details wouldn’t name them, but they’d be protected just the same.
Why not just bust a cap in their ass? The intent of the Second and all.
I’m convinced that’s all you’d receive in writing to any pol, right or left. I’ve written to crenshaw, feinstein, pelosi, and other pols around the country several times and get the same BS.
I still believe that the ONLY reason liberal politicians want to take Americans guns is because they plan to do things for which they hope not to be shot for.
I sent the NRA petition to my senators from NY. A laugh right?
Schumer answered me back saying he defends the 2nd. He will make sure I will be able to continue to go hunting. Hunting?
What a tool.
Agreed.
They should all lead by example and ditch their armed security.
