I just wanted to find out if others get frequent (daily) calls from self-described buyers of residential properties.
I know where it comes from. These numerous “real estate courses” which which advertise on junk t.v. and radio spots make unrealistic promises of 6-figure income with little or no personal money invested. It’s a scam, but it’s amazing how many people fall for it and then begin hectoring home owners non-stop about selling their home, hoping to score on a distress sale. I know how to get out of it by just pricing my modest home in the millions, but would like to get off these lists.
Is there a do-not-call list which will get these off my back, or does these fraudsters not have to comply?
I like to call them back and try to buy their house for $1000 and not take no for an answer until they hang up on me.
I get those calls-—I laugh.

I have received a lot of phone calls from realtors/real estate agent asking if I want to sell my home. When I as the person calling for their license number. When they give it, I asked them if they know cold calling is illegal in Texas. Most claim it is not illegal. I guess they slept through their real estate law abd their real estate ethics classes. After I filed about six complaints with the Texas Real Estate Commission, the calls stopped.
Check if your state has outlawed cold calling.

Phone calls to me:
- extended car warranty
- under investigation due to improper use of my social security fraud; social security card and privileges have been canceled
- Medicare wants to send me a new plastic Medicare card
- do I need a new security system
- how about a great deal on solar power
- do I suffer from back pain
- have I received my home test for cancer
- do I have the best deal for auto insurance
- there’s a suspicious charge of $1,495 on my Amazon account
- my credit history guarantees me a lower interest rate on all my credit cards
- I can get my interest rate reduced to 0% on my Discover card [I don’t have a Discover card]
The scams are infinite.
Preach the gospel to them, even if you don’t believe the message. The calls end licketty split
Got one today.
I repeatedly say “no” and just get talked over. It’s either a computer or some schmendrick who can to no more than follow a script.

I get letters from hopeful opportunists wanting to buy some of my property for stupid low prices.
I sometimes call them as if I am both stupid and desperate and lead them on for a bit before I tell them where to go and how to get there.
And when the REAL owner points out it didn’t happen? And the records show they received no payment? Sorry, but it wouldn’t stand up in court for a minute.
This sort of theft CAN work against a mentally confused homeowner, particularly if the kids are the thieves.
Invite them over and spend several hours with you explaining every single improvement that you have ever made to the property and then suggest that their initial offer for the property be 10 time higher that the last appraised value.
Mainly annoying postcards with a years old pic of the home.

Sell and live in a tent in a homeless encampment until prices drop I guess.
Since it’s just me, I’ve thought of selling, buying a small RV, setting up in one of the RV parks in the east valley and waiting it out to buy again.

I own two properties in florida. Yes I have gotten several.
On your iphone under phone...scroll down and there is a tab you can turn on...silence unknown callers... not in contact list...they can leave a voicemail. But you never hear the phone ring. Just get a notification....silenced call. Then you can go in and block the number.

That's a concern that I share with you, per Chinese Buyers! However, many investors and wannabes hire Filipino skip tracing and cold calling services, since they're so cheap and hard working - so that's probably the calls you're getting. The good news per Chinese encroachment, however, is that the title companies are now making all buyers and sellers verify citizenship. This started in 2019, so maybe President Trump's Admin initiated it. We'll see if it holds, as I close again in May.
