We watch for tornadoes anytime the wind blows. I just checked the weather and we are predicting almost four inches of rain now. I can deal with rain, thunder and lightening but don’t care for wind.
I’ve gotten 1.36 inches so far in my gauge since it started around 6 or so this morning. But more is coming.
4 inches isn’t unusual around here. Not an every-day rain event, but it does happen from time to time. Like yourself, I’m not worried about flooding at the house. I know the areas around here where flooding is a potential hazard, and I avoid them when necessary.
Well, well, well - I guess I still had ‘emergency alerts’ enabled on my phone. I just got a weather alert telling me to be “weather aware” and to “know my safe space”.
Well, tonight, my safe space will be a heavy concrete building built into the side of a hill, designed to be tornado proof and bomb resistant. Can’t say the same about my house which is just an ordinary home. If I were at home when a tornado warning took place, my place is in the basement under the pool table.
