Even by the age of twelve, I had been instructed by my mother to conduct myself in such a way that boys would not mistake me for anything less than a lady deserving of respect. That way, by the time I did reach dating age, I knew how to avoid situations and individuals that might compromise my virtue.
So old fashioned now, I know. Today, it’s “I am woman; hear me roar”. Females want to be treated as “equals”. Foul-mouthed. Agressive behavior. Men no longer put them on a pedestal, and they wonder why.
