I see those things every once in a while and they creep me out...//.
“The Vortex Tacoma (2,75m) estimated rated power output is 100w once industrialised.” (sic)
an average toaster will use around 1200 watts.
Look at that, especially if it is a DVR. I had some ReplayTVs hooked up before my cable went all digital and obsoleted them. Each used 42 watts constantly. Even if you turned it "off" it just turned off the video output and still used 42 watts. They cost me about $10 per month in electricity.
—”since Biden stole the election. I expect I. 2 months it Wil. Be over $4 again”
And it will embolden the unions to go on strike possibly shutting down electric utilities.
Last month I purchased a new inverter generator for the house.
The computers and TV prefer a diet of a nice smooth sine wave.
rotation is how you generate AC current. I didn’t look at the mechanisms in the wobbly stick but I’m guessing that at the base the angular oscillations are converted into rotational force. It just happens that diverting wind force with angles or generating pressure differences with foils is a more direct way to create rotation.
Seems like EVERY USED AND NEW CAR DEALERSHIP HERE HAS ONE OR MORE OF THESE MONSTROSITIES................
—”It appears that metal fatigue might be a problem.”
How are the valve springs in your car engine holding up?
I looked and stand corrected;
“Currently, Vortex generates electricity through an alternator system, made by coils and magnets, adapted to the vortex dynamics, without gears, shafts or any rotating parts.”
Interesting.
I’m going to have to read more about how this works... if they are publishing the specifics.
A- What is the life expectancy?
B - What is the cost payback period?
C. What is the cost of disposal?
From their website. Inaudible, yes. Same range as brain waves in theta, alpha, 8 - 13 Hz. But brain waves seem immune to physical barriers, in my experience. So long term effects should be as much fun to watch as Fauci fooling us that 'positive cases' are the same as 'infected cases'.
When I saw it, ‘bobblehead’ was NOT what popped into my mind.
Good taste prevents me from saying what it DOES look like.
But I think you can figure that one out.
Magnus Effect is another “Blade-less” Turbine!

When they put industrial wind turbines in my county, the developer projected a 20 year lifespan
With an 18 year payoff
Not exactly a good investment
Without subsidies, a huge loss
10’ tall, 100w.
Not entirely precise. The rotation is that of magnets passing thru coils around an iron core. In the power tower the magnets are moved up and down thru an iron field, causing electricity to flow.
This is more like a drone wave rider, hinged in the middle, causing flex that moves iron / magnetic to generate electricity. (But wave riders might be using piezoelectric crystals instead)
I’ve heard that modern windmills produce enough power, with each revolution, to power one average household for a day.
Yep, that’s where I see them......LOL!
—”rotation is how you generate AC current.”
Linear generators are nothing new.
Some utility wind turbines use an AC-AC converter to sync with the grid.
Solar puts out DC and an inverter is used.
Works either way.
How do they think that those will make me stop and buy a car?.....................
How much noise does it make if any?
