Bladeless turbines that waggles like a dashboard toy could be the wind-harnessing tool of the future as they move within the range of vibration of the wind to generate electricity.
The design recently won the approval of Norway’s state energy company Equinor, which named Vortex on a list of the 10 most exciting startups within the energy sector

My brother just completed his solar project and is waiting for the new meter...
I just installed a watt meter on each of the mains to have a look at where the money goes. The average use is about 20kW per day. So 1 kWh would help.
With EVERYTHING OFF, but the chargers , TV/internet box, clocks...it still draws around 100watts.
Surprisingly, each GFCI can draw 5 watts
And with Slo Joe, the price of everything is going to the moon.
Like one of those Dyson fans?
Paint it green and it’s a cactus.
Can bladeless wind turbines mute opposition? (Mon 1 Jun 2015 07.56 EDT)
Probably hasn't received the "government" money (from the taxpayers) that they thought they'd get. Now, with dementia Xiden and the anchor baby non natural Born Citizen "woman of color", they will probably get billions.
It’s been discussed on FreeRepublic before and those more knowledgeable about physics than myself don’t think it will generate very much energy because it has such a small pivot point in order to make it easy to move in the wind.
Just more money wasted.
“not on sale yet”
Well I will make a note to check on it periodically.
B - What is the cost payback period?
If B is greater than A, it is not a good investment.
—”But of most interest to conservationists is the elimination of standard wind turbine issues of noise disturbance, shadow flicker and bird strike, “
Bird strike, they say?
Perhaps they should advertise it as being, ‘For the Birds’?
Yeah, Great! But can it shred birds?
Yeah, Great! But can it shred birds?

There are a lot of design concepts that do not require a spinning prop
—”Paint it green and it’s a cactus.”
Good idea!
A neighbor down the way, had a big cactus growing in the front yard here in DuPage Il, winter snows and all?
YES! I will tell them it is a cactus from France!
Gasoline just broke $3 today, been going up every 3 or 4 days since Biden stole the election. I expect I. 2 months it Wil. Be over $4 again
Does it need a very windy place to operate successfully?
Here in the Deep South, air conditioning uses the most power during the Summer months, which can have notoriously still air.
In fact, even a slight breeze is a welcome relief when the stifling hot and humid air seems to sit listlessly over the landscape.

Everyone has an opinion, and an ear or two.
In the end, it is the old cost/benefit ratio plus the quantity of political donations.
I was expecting to see something similar to a bobblehead! ;-)
Many interesting designs, but all of them use a form of rotary movement.
Even the one with the kite.
It appears that metal fatigue might be a problem.
