Yes, this is a vanity, because in these times we all need a break, and thats why I come here sometimes. So...who do you choose?
Awesome
I was at the Saturday show. When they announced they were going to extend the tour and come to Syracuse I was working Oswego on the Nine Mile Nuclear plants and was trying to figure out when to go get my tickets. As fate would have it, my PU truck had gotten repo’ed because GM had credited my latest payment and it was towed to Syracuse. So I got a taxi and got to impound lot and got my truck back, then drove over to the dome and got my tickets the same day they went on sale.
Read up on it.
I do love 3 Sides Live, but I never even knew there was a 4th part to the album, because I really only started delving in to them in the last five years or so and I’m always listening to their stuff on the streaming services.
Guess I have to go look for a bootleg...
Wow Edgar Winter.
For years the intro to “Frankenstein” was the call sound on my first three cell phones.
You just jogged my memory. I saw BB King at a bar I think in Buffalo. I really can’t remember.
Point noted.
Vinnie Colaiuta
Zappa always had the best of the best.
Yes, I like Cajun/Zydeco bands, too. And I saw (and booked) most of them in their prime. Never liked Beausoleil, though, they just seemed so wooden and stiff to me. Give me C.J. Chenier, Lynn August, Bruce Daigrepont, Queen Ida and D. L. Menard, and I’m happy.
<< Led Zeppelin >>
From ‘69 to ‘72, before Plant’s voice lost its edge. Live, at least.
I would agree that those Bruce Springsteen shows we went to were the best concert I ever saw. You really felt like you got you moneys worth when you left one his concerts. Plus, he was at the peak of his career.
Since John Coltrane’s classic quartet probably does not qualify as a “band,” the clear choice is Led Zeppelin
Honorable mentions go to:
Parliament Funkadelic
New Order
Pink Floyd
The Clash
Too many responses to read.
70s - two bands I did see and loved:
Best Party Band of all time:
J. Geils !!
and
AC/DC Bon Scott era...
The only time we went to Buffalo, was to go to the zoo there. My Dad worked on the NY Central Railroad, and had a pass to ride the train. We'd get up early on a Saturday morning, either catch a cab or ride the bus (we had no car), to the station in Rochester, and get the train there. We'd spend half the day at the zoo, go back to the Buffalo station, get on another train headed to Niagara Falls, and spend the rest of the day there...and get back home around 9 p.m. Saturday night. My Mom would pack a lunch, and we'd eat it at the zoo.
My oldest son, age 54, loves Germany. Up until the coof, he would go once or twice a year. Each time he'd go, he'd take in another nearby county. He has friends in Germany, and speaks the language very well...but he likes to book a hotel in Berlin, then go out and meander on his own. He's been there so many times that he can give the people who live there, directions on how to get where they want to go. I've never been there, and up until I had my DNA done, and worked on my family tree, I never knew I had ancestors from there...many supposedly from the Germanic Empire aristocracy.
I was in the 5th row at the end of the clip, sorry you could not be there.
Queen — with Freddie. (I saw the Beatles)
Lucky you!!! Did you see her video of a concert she did in the Netherlands in 2009, at seventy years old? She was so great but what made it so classy to me was how she knew her limits, not in singing but in dancing, so she kind of stayed in the background while her best in the world dancers rocked the audience.
Led Zeppelin. I’ve seen most all the ones I like except them and maybe Lou Reed.
Yes, Bach was prolific in many ways.
One of, if not the best, concerts of my life. And I've seen tons.
They walked out Leslie West and he played a couple of songs, and then they walked him back off.
Paul Schaeffer conducted the orchestra for I'm Your Captain.
