Yes, this is a vanity, because in these times we all need a break, and thats why I come here sometimes. So...who do you choose?
Forget the bands, I’d take a list of winning lottery numbers from that period of time and buy a load of tickets.........
I like Cajun/Zydeco music too. Beausoleil is one of my favorite bands. Saw them once when the Oneida Nation had a Cajun weekend here back around 2000.
I also like Gaelic Storm. First hear their music in the movie "Titanic," and bought several of their albums. I see they are scheduled to play at a pub in Pawling, New York in Dutchess County in June, but I wouldn't drive down there just to see them. First of all...too old. Second of all, with the mask mandate still intact, I'd not waste my time going anywhere other than the grocery store, or doctor appointments if I have to wear a mask. I used to meet friends at the local casino here once a month, but it's been a year since I last went, and I won't go back until you don't have to wear a mask.
Witnessed Who 82, Who 13 Quadrophenia, Who 16 Long Goodbye, so yeah Who Tommy Live at Leeds would be one for the time machine.
Led Zepplin.
I would also go back and attend Bob Seger’s Live Bullet shows at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
Saw The Dead and walked out asking, “Is That All There Is?”
Must have been an off night.
Springsteen with Clarence Clemons was a show and a half.
I saw him two years ago. He had throat issues and he relied on back up singers. But he was playing and hopping around like a mad man.
ELO, back when it was more than just Jeff Lynne’s backing band, with Kelly Groucutt and Bev Bevan.
Amen to the Band.
When I first heard Brother Where you bound in the car I thought they were copying Pink Floyd. He wasn't on that album.
I saw Jimmy Buffett open for the Eagles at The Academy of Music in NYC.
That's because David Gilmour did play on that album.
Although I grew up in Rochester, New York, we never had a car, so going to concerts of any kind were out of the question. My mother probably wouldn’t have let any of us kids go to begin with. She didn’t even want us riding our bikes in the street. I was the baby, and my two older sisters were into music, so I enjoyed what they liked. Bill Haley & His Comets, The Silhouettes, The Platters, The McGuire Sisters, Pat Boone, Johnny Mathis, The Everly Brothers, Santo & Johnny, etc. My sisters were both working when I started high school, so they were the ones who bought new albums, and 45’s every payday. My second oldest sister bought the first stereo console we owned. I remember it like yesterday...but don’t ask me what I had for supper last night.
“All the Young Dudes?”
Do you mean Mott the Hoople who recorded and made a hit of the Bowie song All the Young Dudes? Ian Hunter is one of my favorites.
The video of Big Mama Cass watching Janis Joplin sing, “Ball and Chain” is unbelievable. Just went back to YouTube and watched it again for the ‘millionth’ time.
I figured that out when I bought the CD.
If there’s one Bowie tour I would have liked to have gone to, it would have been the Station to Station tour.
Played with the "Merry Go Round"...then went solo.
Played every instrument...

Darn good guy very talented...Hollywood snuffed him out...
Grateful Dead.
Gilmour was all over the place in the early 80s, McCartney, Townshend, even played on a couple of Kate Bush songs.
And, yes, I will add early Kate Bush to my list. Love her.
And the Bachettes. All 16 or so of them.
I missed the whole 70's Prog era, but I would like to go see ELP, especially to see someone like Mr. Speedy who was fluent in Classical and Jazz play on that somersaulting concert grand. There's a great YT video Oscar Peterson introducing Emo on his show with that clip.
