As promised I am writing a follow up report after receiving the 2nd shot of covid-19 vaccine.
My br in law got COVID 6 weeks ago and nearly died.
Survived 3 weeks on a vent, but not in good shape now.
It’s REALLY bad stuff for an old person with lousy health going in.
The vax may be totally fake as some on FR say, but I was more than willing to give it a try.
My cancer doctor who had COVID himself in April of 2020 advised me it was a good plan to get the vax.
AMEN!
(fuggedaboutit) funny...been watching a cartoon show called that, only spelled a little differently.
I have not even had a cold in 5+ years. It must be my daily Gym routine of covering one mile at 2 degrees up slope and 30+ weight lifts. I do this every day rain or shine. At age 81, I could easily sign up for a ballet class and not be laughed out of the class. My energy levels are better than at age 35.
But I took the vaccine as a preventive measure to avoid catastrophic event. Also inconsideration was my spouse who is fighting stage-4 cancer and much more vulnerable if infected by covid-19. Vaccine is like buying insurance for your house. The house stays just fine without insurance until a fire accident or some other calamity happens.
St.Augustine is one of our favorite places to visit!.....for over 30 years
I think the 1 to 2 days is average. Some folks might take longer. Our pharmacist had to bet the shots and said she was wholloped by the second d one for several days, and she is a young healthy person, while some elderly person bets it and has no real side effects. It’s a crap shoot as to how the body will react.
I e read that folks with type o blood have less severe covid for some reason, while folks with other type blood suffer more supposedly. IF true, I wonder if that is why some folks just breeze through flus and colds, while others real.y suffer terrible, and why some can take every med under the sun and not have issues, while other folks take a baby aspirin or some typical meds and have all kinds of reactions. Had a relative who couldn’t take hardly anything without their neck swelling up, hives, trouble breathing. It was weird
My spouse is fighting stage-4 cancer for 3 years. Her cancer specialist doctor insisted she get the vaccine. She felt the effects of vaccine more than me, for couple of days, but nothing serious.
> I should be able to go to a physician and be administered a Moderna Stage 2 on request is stupid.<
A better way to track you.
Physicians are busy with other problems. Bookkeeping you know. Hey, who knows?
We had no idea St Augustine was such an interesting town when we bought a condo here only because it was cheaper than in Jacksonville. We love it here, excellent beaches and restaurants, and all kinds of museums and interesting things to do. Traffic only gets bad during holidays when tourists descend in large numbers.
You may have something there...I am blood type O and had minimum reactions to the 2nd shot.
G Larry - me too. No interest in getting it, I feel fine. Thanks anyway.
Indeed... which is what makes life more interesting. If we were all identical, I would feel like the ants in a large colony. They all look identical.
I’m 70 this month, and gee - I should totally trust a medical / political establishment that has my best interests at heart, amirite? That’s a hard pass for me.
Are you at high risk of URI/ systemic failure?
99.7+% is getting close to flu A &B common cold survival rates.....
Regards
See if you can get AM radio. Rush is still behind the EIB microphone and his new antenna is much higher.
👍
You are in pretty good shape too though, so I’m sure thsg plays into it as well. I have a relative who is type o and they never get sick. We’d all be on our sick beds. And they would get the sniffles MAYBE. And they could eat anything g lol. A.ways joked they had an iron stomach. Could probably eat rottin road kill and be fine 😆
I’ll see if I can find the article on the blood types. It wasn’t too long ago.
“This photo is of a virtual cemetery of people who have died with covid-19 in state of Oklahoma.”
About 9% of those crosses mark a COVID death. The rest are deaths from other things (including gunshots in two instances I know of) called COVID deaths.
“Mine is Tuesday......Moderna”
My 2nd is Thursday, also Moderna.
The day after the first shot the pain meds I take for arthritis didn’t work at all. I had it done at a place where I went for rehab for a fractured hip. My main reason for selecting that facility was because I was promised the first shot within a few days, and they delivered.
Yesterday they called me to remind me that my 2nd is due March 11, so I’m confident they will have it. I’m in Michigan and Friday allowable seating capacity for indoor dining was raised from 25 to 50%. I intend to go out for breakfast soon.
My 91 year old mother received 2nd dose Pfizer last Saturday. No effects until Sunday noon when she started feeling very tired, achy joints more than usual, and off & on chills. But she is feeling well enough today to attend her granddaughter’s wedding. (I’m attending from another state via zoom).
