Turner Classic Movies will hold a full roundtable discussion at the start of several of old Hollywood's most celebrated films to warn viewers about 'sexist and racist content' - prompting major mixed reaction from fans, with some slamming 'sick' cancel culture.
On Thursday, the cable network kicked off Reframed: Classic Films in the Rearview Mirror, a series where it says it examines the 'troubling and problematic' aspects of the classics, which were released from the 1920s to the 1960s.
Among the 18 flicks under the microscope include Breakfast at Tiffany's, Psycho, Gone With the Wind, My Fair Lady, Stagecoach, The Jazz Singer, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and more.

Woman thief - sexist.
Probably anything directed by Hitchcock has a few sexist things gonmg on. North by Northwest?
Not Hitchcock, but "Summer of 42." Teevee, the Andy Griffith episode when barbara Eden came to town and took up as a manicurist. Sexist.
TCM wont even show Holiday Inn- 1942.....thats a howler...heh
Last year I bought from TCM a copy of UNCONQUERED with Gary Cooper. It had all the PC warnings on it that the portrayal of the Indians was not correct as they weren’t not that bad.
However if you ever read THE CONSPIRACY OF PONTIAC by Francis Parkman, or THE ROMANCE AND TRAGEDY OF PIONEER LIFE by August Lynch Mason, you will see the Indians were as brutal as shown in the film. Actually they were worse.
Case in point.. During the Conspiracy of Pontiac, the first school house massacre took place. The Enoch Brown school massacre, by Indians killing nine of the students and teacher, kidnapping others.
I wonder how they will tag this scene from THE LIFE OF BRYAN.

[[[— Psycho? I can’t even fathom what they could be talking about in that one. —

The whole psychotic transgender angle. The final scene with the psychiatrist, played by Simon Oakland explaining it is completely “unwoke”.
You can bet they won’t show the “East St. Louis” scene in National Lampoon’s Vacation, anymore.
I’ve got 30 days of Facebook Jail for saying that ...
“There is no difference between Norman Bates(Psycho), Ed Gein(a real psycho) and a tranny who butchers himself trying to become a ‘woman’.”
BAM! Instant 30 days in jail.
You all gotta admit Micky Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany’s was pretty disgusting. Early 60’s. I was offended but then like most adults I’m able to get over it. Hollywood is guilty of that stuff, especially with indians and blacks. At least the TCM hosts talk about it albeit with a little discomfort so they brought in a black woman to ‘help’ with the discussion.
Are they taking the place of religion which has been shut out?
= = =
Yes.
Turner Classic Movies adds ‘CURRENT TCM STAFF THINK THIS IS sexist and racist content’ warning to 18 movies, including Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Psycho, Gone With the Wind and My Fair Lady. Fire them.
DANG! Now I’m going to have to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I still eagerly await the reissue of “Song of the South.” Maybe this year.....not.
To think it all started with Tipper Gore. Frank Zappa is rolling over in his grave.
If the movie, book or magazine doesn’t have the proper propaganda (according to the new Minister of Truth) it must be destroyed.
1984 look out here we come faster then a speeding bullet.
Oh, is bullet accepted?
Try “Little House on the Prairie”!
—-VIOLENCE! LANGUAGE! DRUG USE! NUDITY! SEXUAL SITUATIONS!...
For real.
I never knew I was cursing when I said “..for land sakes..” until now..

I have little doubt that Robert Osborne was a bit of a lefty, but he had class and kept politics out of it.
Once he died, the maggot infested wokesters took over and now EVERYTHING is politics and PC on TCM.
No thanks. That ship has sailed..
Ironically, Ted Turner, a liberal but also a loyal Southerner, produced the movies, Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, which portrayed the Confederates sympathetically. Any movie on that war filmed today would make the Rebels like the Nazis, maybe worse.
“You all gotta admit Micky Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany’s was pretty disgusting...”
I must disagree.
Until we were all TOLD to be offended by things, we weren’t.
Mickey was just kinda weird or kooky or bizarre, not disgusting.
That didn’t happen until fairly recently, when they started telling us so -24/7.
“Until we were all TOLD to be offended by things, we weren’t.”
...agreed. Audiences were rolling in the aisle when Rooney came on. Corny yes. “Offensive” no.
Hey Joe-do not fire them. It’s a learning experience. You don’t have to agree. The rules of yesterday do not have to be held against the rest of us today. Only if one has an axe to grind. so you make the effort to call them out.
The Woke critters have lost what little bit of their mind they had they gained power after Biden was in the run they are ready for the padded rooms at the happy farm.
At all the books one owns are now collectors items worth $$$$$$.
