A shocking discovery out of a Baltimore City high school, where Project Baltimore has found hundreds of students are failing. It’s a school where a student who passed three classes in four years, ranks near the top half of his class with a 0.13 grade point average.
Tiffany France thought her son would receive his diploma this coming June. But after four years of high school, France just learned, her 17-year-old must start over. He’s been moved back to ninth grade.
“He’s stressed and I am too. I told him I’m probably going to start crying. I don’t know what to do for him,” France told Project Baltimore. “Why would he do three more years in school? He didn’t fail, the school failed him. The school failed at their job. They failed. They failed, that’s the problem here. They failed. They failed. He didn’t deserve that.”
France’s son attends Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts in west Baltimore. His transcripts show he’s passed just three classes in four years, earning 2.5 credits, placing him in ninth grade. But France says she didn’t know that until February. She has three children and works three jobs. She thought her oldest son was doing well because even though he failed most of his classes, he was being promoted. His transcripts show he failed Spanish I and Algebra I but was promoted to Spanish II and Algebra II. He also failed English II but was passed on to English III.
This is a public school, which means the teachers there belong to the same unions currently issuing endless demands about money and reopening schools.

“Seven years of college down the drain!”
“Many students won’t have the math background for a skilled trade, and certainly will not have the skills to enter a computer science or engineering program”
Some of them won’t have the skills to work at McDonalds.

“...what is the network card?’...”
I have a crate of those.
Pretty useless these daze as comms are just a chip or two going to an internal antenna. MAYBE a chip going to an external connector also on the m/b.
You finally realize it./sarc

They will be instructed to pass every student - problem solved!
That's Senator Blutarsky to you. And he's spending $1.9 trillion tonight.

Baltimore City Public Schools continue to rank among the highest spenders in the U.S. on a per-student basis, placing third among the 100 biggest school systems during fiscal year 2017.
City schools spent $16,184 per pupil, according to data released Tuesday by the Census Bureau, up 6.7% from last year when the school system ranked fifth nationally. Baltimore City is the 40th-largest elementary and secondary public school district in the U.S. with 82,354 students. Four Maryland school districts ranked among the top 10 nationally, compared to five a year ago.

Baltimore County Board of Education passed a $1.74 billion budget plan Tuesday night, sending it to the county executive and council for final consideration.
The budget plan for the 2021-22 academic year calls for adding 15 minutes to the school day, providing a 2% cost of living increase for unionized employees and hiring more teachers, counselors, social workers and healthcare providers.
If approved, the board’s plan would also reallocate funds —as yet, unidentified — to increase spending per pupil and to create $175,000 for school grants for family engagement.
The plan is headed next to the desk of Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr., a former teacher who ran for office on an education platform
The advantage of open source software was that there is a community of users who help one another. To succeed at this one need both curiosity and patience to do the required debugging. The academic users often had online workshops and shared the code. For me, this was better than closed source software where a user had to wait until a developer implemented the required algorithms. I would test releases and write and share code to analyze problems that interested both my clients and me.
Sorry, wrong thread...
I am proud and ready to work with this school community to overcome and persevere through our current national and local crisis of Covid19 and Racial Injustices
These people are a joke. They fill their kids’ heads full of victimhood and shyte and then get angry when they fail.
Was he confused by the network part or the card part? When was the last time you messed with a network card? Other than video cards, does anyone even plug anything into the bus anymore? The last card I bought was a USB 3.0 card for an older computer that only had USB 2.0, and that was a few years ago.
They don’t care. That’s what welfare and drug sales are for. “The Wire” was a documentary.
OMG A very bad joke.
***Now watch closely at time 1:15*** The black woman on the left is REALLY affected by Shapiros comment about the Single Motherhood Rate In The Black Community. I got $100 that says either she, her mom, or her daughter, or all three of them are single moms!!!
So Augusta Falls black students fell from 97% to 34% and added Hispanics and Whites?
The only thing that matters is that teachers get their taxpayer-funded paychecks, their union gets it’s skim and taxpayer money gets laundered as contributions to Democrat political candidates.
Or they could come to my school district where we just pass students who don’t pass and don’t come to school.......
